Ok this past weekend I noticed that my sound was snapping and popping in WoW. Mostly when the music gets really loud like after you complete a quest.

Ok so I start messing around with my settings, nothing changed it was still there only it started in the Ambient sounds and other stuff.

I download the latest drivers for my sound card. Still nada. Load up EQ2, no problem there only in WoW.

I recently (last week) downloaded the newest vid card drivers and shortly after is when I noticed this. Is it possible that my vid drivers are affecting my sound? Anyone have a suggestion? It's frustrating :(

Sound acceleration in DirectX? It's certainly possible.

I have no idea what that means :(

I did try installing Directx9.c though, and the same thing happens. Suggestions are welcome, I will try anything at this point.

In DXDiag, on the SOUND tab, you can set the hardware acceleration level. Turn it off and see if the problem persists.

BTW, I got this working. I had to tell SoundMax I was using speakers and not headphones in order for it work with WoW. Odd indeed =\ I didn't have a problem in any other game lol just WoW. It's fixed and I'm happy now :D Thanks for the input.
