As everyone probably knows....yesterday there was a very small explosion (bigger than an m-80 but smaller than a stick of dynamite) at a military recruiting station in Times Square, Manhattan NY.

Oddly enough there were photos of an individual, taken before the "bombing", standing in front of that recruiting station with a sign saying "We Did It" sent to various congress people that arrived yesterday.

Officially this is the response to those letters sent to congress:

There's apparently no link between the bombing of an military recruiting station in New York's Times Square and letters sent to Congress saying "We did it," law enforcement officials said Friday.

The lengthy anti-war letters — which arrived with photos of a man standing in front of the recruiting office before it was damaged — contained no threats and were sent to as many as 100 members of Congress, officials said.

Laura Eimiller, an FBI spokeswoman in Los Angeles, said an individual was questioned there about the letters to Congress and "there is no evidence linking the letters, which contained no threat, to the bombing."

A law enforcement official in Washington, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the investigation of the bombing is continuing, called the timing of the letters an "incredibly unbelievable coincidence" and said no charges were expected in connection with them.

Strangely enough the U.S. Northern Command appears with this:

WASHINGTON - Al-Qaida terrorists may be plotting more urgently to attack the United States to maintain their credibility and ability to recruit followers, the U.S. military commander in charge of domestic defense said.

Air Force Gen. Gene Renuart, chief of the U.S. Northern Command, also told reporters Thursday he has not seen any direct threats tied to the U.S. presidential elections. But he said it would be rash to think that such threats are not there.

"We need only to look at Spain and see that they're certainly willing to try to do something that is significant that could affect an election process," Renuart said. "I think it would be imprudent of us to let down our guard believing that if there's no credible threat that you know of today, there won't be something tomorrow."

Get your bullshit detectors calibrated....I think we're gonna need them real soon.

Hmm, I started a thread on this, but I think this 1 is far better.....Nice correlation there Thor.

So, how else can you explain the phrase "We Did It", if it wasn't trying to take responsibility for the explosion?

My B.S. meter is almost pegged out....

BS meters will all depend on the polls. If McCain appears to be behind in the polls, we can expect a terrorist 'threat' to gain him more numbers. If McCain is leading, we probably won't see it as much. Gotta scare people into voting for the party of the incumbent president you know.

Didn't we see threats before the last Presidential election without anything coming from them? Oh wait, that was just a big coincidence...

This is probably bad to admit but honestly when I heard it was just a small explosion I didn't think much of it yesterday and completely ignored it. I think I've become over-sensitized to terroism. :(

I'm just waiting on more good information. As terrorist acts go, it's not exactly awe-inspiring in its terrorization.

Taking GW's "successful" track record into consideration, could this be his handywork?

I think it's the opposite.

We're so hyped up over "terrorism" that we're ready to jump to the conclusion that anything and everything might constitute "terrorism".

Things like this happened all the time in years past, but would never be considered "terrorism".

While GW has been successful at blowing things up, I doubt he's responsible for this particular bomb.

He does like to ride his bicycle, and there was footage of someone on a bicycle just before the blast, with an "eyewitness" account of the cyclist throwing something at the building. Hmmmm....

Terrorism??? ROFL no this...hold on ROFL... this was some kind of "performance" art. granted the artist will probably spend along time in jail.
not because his stunt hurt anyone but because the Government will punish him for the overreaction.

BTW, when do terrorists explode bombs with such a low yield in the middle of the night when there are ZERO people on the street?? oh yea...maybe they thought that bombing a recruiting station they could kill american soldiers before they got to Iraq or Afghanistan thereby saving the really good IED's for when the russians invade again!!, yea...that's the ticket!
Terrorism my ass!
