Thought I would start a new post so poeople could read the old one and not get "spoiled"
OMFG, what a GREAT episode.
A couple things..
Why didnt Mrs. Petrelli tell Nathan to fly after Claire unless it was part of the plan. What if making it seem inevitable was really her plan, and even saying that stuff about peter in the loft was all orchestrated to make Peter strong and Nathan into the man he REALLY should be.
Also, the trail of Sylar's blood to the sewer pisses me the hell off....
and WHO THE FUCK IS THE GUY THAT MOLLY WAS TALKING ABOUT!?!?!?!?!!!!oneoneone!!!!1

well, how the hell would they have a season 2 if they didn't have someone already evil established in season 1 to carry on the evilness??
bleh, what do i know? just seems like a common storyline formula.
but WTF!!!! that was a good show :D

I figured she meant Syler, until Matt said the name and she didn't react.
I was surprised Claire's father didn't have any tranquilizers for Syler, until Hiro showed up.
I didn't realize last night wasn't the actual end, so it caught me by surprise.
Midly off topic - did they intentionally pick the worst dialogue from the Fantastic4 movie to preview, or is that the type of crap they're going to expect the audience to swallow? That bit turned me off completely.

That wasnt the best of any preview for that movie.. I dont know what they were doing or thinking.... but at the start of Heroes, when they first mention that there was going to be a **special** preview they made it seem like it was going to be long and something worth looking at.. kind of like what they did for Spiderman 3, which was way longer. None of the crap they flashed at the start was in the preview they showed, which was not even 2 min long.

One thing that I am unsure of, that time when Peter went to the roof where he seen his past self.. did he really go back in to (used Hiro's time traveling power), or was he in a dream state (powers from an unknown person, same in which he seen himself exploding)
EDIT
hey is it me.. or does the way Peter looks in this one kind of reminds you of the Peter Parker emo lookin in SM3

so is this too far-fetched? Hiro's father is Takezo Kensei, the original owner of the sword he was searching for, and his "power" is immortality. that would explain why a simple business man knew his shit about sword fighting, and why he was involved with "The Company".

I think Mrs Patrellis was fully on board with letting the bomb go off. I don't think her side (that felt the bomb was inevitable) wanted nathan to do what he did. I don't think the whole "save the cheerleader save the world" thing had anything to do with sylar. I think it had to do with influencing nathan into being more human, give him a connection other than Peter.

Great episode, I just didn't find closure, which is both good and bad. Good because I want more, bad ...because they're taking a break AGAIN and I might stop watching.
Notice that Samurai dude at the end, his face looks exactly like Hiro's fathers? Pretty sure it's him like Gaed said.

Plus the symbol on the battle tabard is the symbol found on Nikki's back, which could be attributed to all the people with super human abilities.

Why couldn't Peter fly his own ass up into space to blow up?

Absolutely. Thats pretty great tie right there.
Ibudin, perhaps Peter is only able to access the powers at a weaker level than those he absorbed from or potentially can only access one at a time. When he's going supernova he may not have the concentration.
I liked how Nikki/Jessica was actually useful and not just some sort of freakish pariah in this one. Everyone really played a part.
Where did Hiro teleport to? Why was he not able to come back and finish Sylar off?
Lastly, we know that Peter has the means to survive through a bomb like that. We must only assume Nathan can't. Hopefully Parkman can survive getting shot by himself 4 times. But what comes next? They've all managed to come together, will they stay together? Claire talked about wanting to "go on patrole" and Hiro wants to be a hero ...
I love this show :heart:heart:heart

I'm guessing that he was trying to use all his powers and focus on trying not to blow up. guess he cant walk and chew bubble gum

He has to focus on the memory / the feeling the person gives him to use their power. As stated in the episode with the invisible man. He was so freaking out about the nuke that he probably couldnt concentrate as stated above.

I can't say I cared much for the finale. Hiro's power is annoying, and the only thing more annoying is how inept he is at using it to its full potential.

Did you miss the very end? Or am I missing something?

He teleported a few hundred years back in time to what I am guessing a battle field in Japan where a small army was getting set and ready to attack a guy which I belive to be Hiro's dad.. or someone in close relation to him. Just befor the attack, there was a solar eclipse and that is where it ended
lol we are going to have to wait till Fall when season 2 starts back up :D

Personally I think it'll be hiro, but not hiro. I think hiro is a direct descendant of kensei. I'm sorry but sulu just isn't cool enough to be a badass.

Well... why Didnt Hiro finish him with cutting his head (like he trained)?
No idea, but:
- Sylar got shot by Matt 3-4 times when he saved Audrey - and probably died.
- Sylar fell off the roof with Peter and he died.
- Sylar was captured and poisoned to death in the Company - he died.
- Sylar got stabbed by Hiro and he died.
I am pretty sure that Sylar is immortal too - he is not regenerating, but reviving from death (like our characters in mmorpgs - hell we must be used to this). I think only damaging his brain will finaly kill him. However the fact that he escaped without notice seems also dumb for me.
Mrs Petrelli didnt foresee Linderman's death either. She didnt foresee Nathan sacrifice probably. Also note, that Nathan CAN survive, if he releases Peter high enough and flies the hell off.
The knight at end was definitely Hiro's father.
The person who Molly is afraid of: I have 4 guesses. The Haitian (which can also explain his trick for the memory), Charles (the one who made people dream), and a non-discovered person. Sicne the first two persons are not necessary evil, the non-seen villain is much more probable. The 4th guess is Hiro's father.
The season 2 is called Generations. It will mostly speak about Hiro's father, Charles, Mrs Petrelli and Linderman prolly. Also Nathan's/Peter's father is surely involved, as well as Claire's mother maybe. Probably the 2nd half of the season will be Sylar again, and how they will kill him for good.
Then again, I might be completely wrong.

TiVo is great, but makes me really lazy about watching TV, no matter how good it is. And Heroes is pretty damn good. So I finally watched the finale and have one complaint: The climax needed to be two minutes longer.
It just didn't satisfy. I'd have had Nikki play a bit more of a role, with her being the one to rip out the parking meter and lay on Sylar with it. Sylar fends it off somewhat with telekinesis while rapping Peter about the head, trying to force him to blow. Sylar finally gets a hold of the meter and melts it, then tosses Nikki aside.
I'd have like to see Parkman use his telepathy to know what Sylar was going to do, perhaps using that to help one of the others before trying to gun Sylar down. Hiro didn't appear very heroic on his final charge; more like the Three Stooges' Curly in the wrestling ring.
So, the direction didn't do it for me, but the series as a whole is great.
--------------
I'm thinking that Charles is the one who "looks back" at Molly, though Lanilya makes a good point. Right now, he just seems able to do it. This also explains some of the weird dream stuff that happened to Peter earlier in the series. And there they were, perhaps dreaming of each other!
--------------
So we come to Generations, where presumably we find out about the original Heroes, the founding of the Corporation, and the plot to nuke New York in order to unite the world (someone's read Watchmen!). The older folks claimed that they tried to use their abilities to save the world, but failed, so they had to turn to this. But did this happen in real time? Or did they come from a failed future to change the past (someone's read X-Men 141-142!*).
So we had Linderman, who could heal others. Charles, who can do whacky dream things possibly from beyond the grave. Hiro's father may be immortal. Nathan and Peter's mom is unknown. And whoever truly heads the Corporation is likely not dead and has their own powers. I can't wait to find out what happens next!
I'll probably see it on TiVo, 5 weeks after it airs. ;)
*Hiro did, but cited #143. Perhaps he goes back in time to change the issue!
