I remember it being you actually had to be GOOD to get in high end guilds, but now it seems like its just how much you cyber or suck dick (figureativley and literally =\ ). I have noticed all guilds from EW & Ivm to Euro fucks (well maybe not them since I do not follow LS, but who knows!) and SoT letting in members that should not be there. Is it because of lots of high end members quitting so need to go to the shit of the crop? I mean hell SoT let ARDEMUS in...ARDEMUS.

Well every account I buy and piece of platinum, and then all the computers my family owns, laptops, furniture I need to work, books etc etc. I am rather independant actually so write most of it off.

Unless you pay/paid your parents for those things, you can't write them off. People do it all the time, but it'll never stand up in an audit.

For those of you who have no clue on what's happening here, let me explain. The current requirements for EW are as follows:

Level Requirements:
Level 65 for all classes

AA Requirements:
250+ AA points
Emphasis placed on raid beneficial and primary class role abilities.


Equipment:
No real requirement, but if average HP from your items isn't at least 130, then your probably not ready for EW.

Keys & Flags:
Kod Taz access is required. Plane of Time Access is also greatly prefered but not required.


Now when Tuatha applied to EW she was flagged up to tactics and had no where NEAR 150 aa's, nevermind 250. Not one other person on this server could have made it into EW with those stats. Yet, she made full member?

Level Requirements:
Level 65 for all classes

AA Requirements:
250+ AA points
Emphasis placed on raid beneficial and primary class role abilities.


Equipment:
No real requirement, but if average HP from your items isn't at least 130, then your probably not ready for EW.

Keys & Flags:
Kod Taz access is required. Plane of Time Access is also greatly prefered but not required.


Now when Tuatha applied to EW she was flagged up to tactics and had no where NEAR 150 aa's, nevermind 250. Not one other person on this server could have made it into EW with those stats. Yet, she made full member?

EW judge’s people for a potential full member based a lot of criteria. For one we do not want any more drama queens, a positive personality usually can help ensure you aren’t. If you do your job, are on a good percent of the time and pay attention your likely going to make FM sooner or later. EW is not as super hardcore like most 'uber' guilds believe it or not. We are pretty casual and laid back compared to others with the way we do things.



So in conclusion EW and I are sincerely sorry that we let you down by not accepting this application, well written I may add. We hope you can perhaps re-apply in a few months when you meet the proper requirements; you seem to be very well aware of.

As for who high end people recruit, who cares. Really. Its their business. The game is pretty damn easy to play, with all the bells and whistles that more or less allow you to run EQ on what is almost a form of Auto Pilot. If top tier guilds want to recruit people that are not assholes, well hey, its about time. Its probably something that has been long overdue. Immuture asshole players are a liability, even if they are "1337" ( Grumble about Leet Speak bastardization of the English language :mad: ) in their ability to press a few buttons at a raid at the right time. Besides, alot of these top dogs rely alot on the word of mouth and recommendations of their existing player base, and these people tend to be :eek:-*gasp* friends of theirs! In a game that is experiencing some attrition and contraction, its still a good way to fill the ranks, especially if you need people who really enjoy all aspects of the game. That includes the social interaction. To encourage them to recruit based on just skill alone is to bring back the bad old days of cockblocking, training, leapfrogging, drama and general ill will that perhaps some individuals relished in, but most thought just plain sucked. Its kinda nice now that the EQ world is so big now that every guild gets their own nitch to play in and there is pretty much enough to keep people busy killing MOBS, as opposed to being at each other's throats.

As for my credentials for posting here on this "Upper Tier" related thread? Probably better than yours, Buyza. Just the fact that after 5 years I am still playing this game should be enough to beat you.

The success of a guild doesn't have so much to do with the talent of its players so much as their dedication and attitude. When you've got a guild of sixty plus people, you've got a lot of different-minded folks who are trying to interact with one another on a daily basis. The more assholes you have, the more drama that's created, and the harder it is to get people to log in and work together. As far as raiding's concerned, you don't need the most skilled players as long as they're paying attention. I mean, following directions on a raid's really not rocket science. The people you have who *are* very talented can carry the weight of those who aren't so hot, anyways.

=)To some extent, I agree with you. EQ does not revolve around your time. It's basically a night job for high level guild members, who are paid in DKP. There is some skill involved, mostly from the raidleader who comes up with the strategy with input by other members, but the most skill ever required on your part is following instructions.

Skill is still required. You need to know how to type, understand what spells or disciplines carry out what action, trick around the system, and familiar yourself with the strategy around an encounter. But if you commit the time, the skill comes hand in hand.

It's not totally like a FPS where your skill is vastly required. Rather, EQ is about opportunities, and if you miss them (flag events, loot, DKP gaining), you progress less quickly.

EQ is a very different game. I'm reaching the point where I may have to purge myself from the gameworld because it's going to the point where I have less time to do other stuff, and therefore, see less of the wonders of real life (such as practicing my Japanese or traveling).

I remember a long time ago when I started out playing EQ, I was running through WC and I saw a big group of Eternal Wrath members standing there, possibly having a meeting. I ran right into the middle of it and kinda stood there. I'm pretty sure they were like "WTF is this n00b doing?" Well, I'll tell you what I was doing. I was being a n00b and said "i'm going to join you guys one day" and they laughed at me. I then proceded to cry because my elite EQ dreams were shattered forever.

hehe. I love it when people start giving stats and accomplishments. However, if you go to the NHB forums you can seriously get yourself into trouble over there.

People over there discuss and argue over mixed martial arts ( the one most people know is Ultimate Fighting Championship). The only diffrence is people actually settle shit, once in a great while, with actually fighting. Over the last ten years I have seen live reports and people who confirm that contests take place.

As for Tuatha, she don't deserve any of this shi@. I'm glad there are ppl in EW that will help their own. We aren't as hardcore as some ppl think. We have gone 6 weeks where we raided only 2x a week a few months back. And yeah what was posted that said we so uber and so hard to get in. It's funny I see how many ppl post about how hardcore EW are and how its like impossible to join. It's really not that hard to get into a high end guild as per Drizzen post.

As for Bise post, really the reason why a necro would make it was mainly it was nice to have a necro for uqua via FD. That zone was so broken before being nerf a few times. A lot of ppl got scared about him leaking info(shrug).

It's no big secret that some ppl have access to our guild board. But it's really funny when they post stuff when they don't read everything and skim thru it. And then they post stuff that makes them look stupid because they dont know jack.
