Among the debts reported this month by Hillary Rodham Clinton’s struggling presidential campaign, the $292,000 in unpaid health insurance premiums for her campaign staff stands out.

If Obama and crew focus in on this (if it's deemed true), this could mean the end of the Clinton campaign. I don't think anything that could be said could be more damning to her than this since Universal Healthcare is basically what her campaign is built around.

It's probably true. She's apparently getting sued by some vendors, because the campaign is broke and basically stiffing vendors that can't directly get her media exposure.

Of all the things for her to not be paying for, health care.... Is her campaign asleep?

Not asleep, just deeply in the red. All of the Democratic presidential hopefuls had healthcare as a major issue this year -- Hillary's name is just more strongly associated with it due to her involvement during Bill's White House years. She talks about staying through to the end and trying to wrangle victory out of loss, but I don't see how that's going to happen.

Seems to me like she's trying to stick it out long enough to make it to the Convention, and hope that she'll be able to swing the superdelegates to her side. Can you imagine the favors she'll call in for that, and even more scary - the promises she'll make to the superdelegates to get their vote?

I didnt realize she was in this dire shape financially though... if this is even close to being true, I dont see how she'll be able to make it to the Convention.

Hillary's campaign has approx. 33 million on hand and has approaching 9 million in debt.

Obama has approx 38 million on hand and 625k in debt.

on a side note:
McCain has just under 8 million on hand and has over 4 million in debt.

Did anyone hear the reports of how Hilliary was comparing her campaing to Rocky Balboa in PA. today?

My first thought was what? make believe?

Didn't Rocky get beat by the black guy?

Didn't hear that but heard Barrack on one of the morning radio shows this AM. And today Chelsea is supposed to be at York College. Leah's mom is the director of events at York College or something and always tells us who is coming and when before anyone is supposed to know. But I think this one was publicized. Not that I have any interest in seeing the young Clinton I'd rather see her mom or dad or Barrack.

More Hillary funny: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2008/04/02/BAVNVU2PJ.DTL&type=politics

I don't care for Bill very much. His charisma let him get away with murder (perhaps even literally), while everyone treated him like a rock star.

That said, it's really sad to see him go out like this. He's spending every bit of his political capital on this debacle, and burning bridges for a lost cause.

John Edwards somewhat owning Hillary, if you didn't see it way back when:

I missed those comments by Edwards the first time around.

It is too bad he never had any real chance of becoming the party's nominee in this election; he may well have been the best choice of the Democrats.

I hadn't seen that episode either, nice link!

Going to have to see if I can find Hilarys response to that, bet its funny :)
