The last time I heard that was when I was on my hick-ass cousins ranch in Nebraska throwing the "pop" cans in the air and shooting them with a 12 gauge.

I'm just happy I don't live somewhere that I have to call it "Other".

I'm definately deep in "pop" territory, but call it "soda" a lot myself though. Say "soda" almost every Friday when I'm getting lunch at the same place, and they almost always say "pop?" after I say "soda". Same person working the counter every time... think they'd catch on eventually.

Maybe they figure you'll catch on eventually? ;p

The first time I heard "what kind of Coke do you want" (On my way to AIT in for Rucker at the Atlanta airport, I thought they were playing a joke on me, so I just said "Classic".

Along the same lines, they call a Sprite type drink "Lemonade" in England and parts of France. I've also heard that mixing that with lager is something of a trendy drink, but the thought makes me cringe.

Atlanta's weird because Coke's headquartered here. They shove more damn marketing down our throats than any other company I can think of.
