Hey folks, what are you all up to this year for Christmas / New Year? Any good plans, you yellow-bellied elves, you.

Mine is going to be a massive influx of family followed by packing and moving to prep for the spring semester.

Actually yes.
This weekend Leah and I are hosting another party of friends we either have met through gaming or work. Should be lots of fun and potentially dangerous to be playing games in a Wii while drinking eggnog. The one we threw in July was bigger but it was outside so here's to hoping nothing gets broke! :)
Then Christmas Eve Leah's family will come over we will open their presents to us and ours to them and then we'll eat Chinese and play dorky board games. On Christmas Day they will come back for dinner and we'll open our remaining presents. Good fun and I'm looking forward to it :)

Sounds fun guys. My invitation is in the post, eh?
No one else got anything else lined up? Me and my fiance (ok, that still feels weird) are doing the family circuit this year. Last year we had to go to - of all the shitholes in the world - Wales. I escaped it this year by offering to drive the hundreds of miles to pick the misses' sister and niece up, on Xmas eve eve, just to avoid having to visit later. Desperate measures, eh.
Anywho, happy christmas everyone!

Family is rather distant, so mostly MMO stuff, TiVo clearing, and perhaps some reading. Oh, and waging the secular war on Xmas, of course -- should have it banned worldwide by next year. /nod

By the look of things I'm the only one in my family who isn't working on christmas, so I guess I'll be watching a couple of movies or playing some video games or whatnot. In some strange way I managed to avoid spending the holidays with my girlfriend's family. That would have been a sure way of seeing to it that I'd never get to see 2007.

Gah guess I'm lucky that I actually like Leah's family and that they adore me huh?
What's so bad about Wales? I have family there!

Holidays are going to be spread out over a couple weeks, due to a new addition to the family this morning; my niece, who is more like a daughter, had a son early this morning, and so we are letting her get rested up before celebrating too much. She has been craving a glass of wine, so she has a wrapped case waiting on her now.:p
I already know I have the Pink Floyd Pulse dvd coming from my son and his girlfriend, so I am planning on spending some time with that over the holidays.
I hope everyone has a great time celebrating whatever your flavor of the holidays may be.

Congrats on the niece! What a lovely gift. My elder sister's is due within the next fortnight. Can't persuade her to call it Noel though :P
What's wrong with Wales? Well, nothing if you're not there :D
Happy Xmas all.
