The world could end after Muslims and Christians/Jews finally decide that the world is too small for more than one god and nuke each other out of existance in what might as well be called the Last Crusade (or Jihad). Of course, people that are not Muslims or Christians/Jews will be fucked by proxy due to issues that are not even their business (Sorry Africa and most of Asia), and die in the resulting nuclear winter.

- Uhm, I believe the world, as in planet earth, is due to die out in about 2 more billion years.
Human civilization? Who knows. A few thousand years left until the next ice age, but to think we'll survive that long may be pushing it a bit.

Some kind of disease ala 28 Days Later will cause the zombification of the entire human race.

I believe the sun is predicted to burn out in 500 million more years. If we as the human race are not wiped out by then..we will be.

Maybe we'll just have to colonize other planets or something in order to survive. ;)
