I know Grey uses an iPhone, but is there anyone else using an iPhone or other PDA/mobile device to use this site?

Is it a pain in the ass to use, right now?

I use it on my treo. Wish there was no images but it looks pretty good as far as websites on a mobile phone goes.

Did that contract renewal subsidy on the new iPhone get confirmed? I'm thinking about getting one when the 3g comes out, or maybe the 3g blackberry.

I'll get it from you, if you get anything out of it.

Same, my first gen RAZR is older than some of my relatives now, probably time to trade it in.

I think I tried it once on a homebrew browser for the Nintendo DS. It was painful.

I suppose one of these days I should order the official Opera browser for the DS...

Works fine on a Treo 755p.

Grey, we are looking to buy 2, 16GB iPhones when the new 3G ones are released. Verizon is letting us out of our contract b/c we get shitty service and they can't put up anymore towers in my area.

We've heard rumors of the $199 subsidy but no one at AT&T is talking aobut all I got from someone is that they aren't allowed to take vacation from June 15 to July 15. If you a) get something from selling them and b) can get me the free shipping then you have 2 guaranteed sales. :)

I imagine this looks loads better on an iphone. I hate this blackberry :(

Sanchek

Talking about the mobile version?

fildien
05-20-2008, 11:16 AM
yes. the one I used to post that.

Greystone Thorngage

i will test the mobile on all our different browsers at work.

As far as phones for you guys. I DO get something out of it. I will ship the phones for ya.

the 3G iphone we have no info on, Apple is retarded when it comes to releaseing details. I wouldnt expect a subsidy with the iphone they didnt with the first one, not sure they will for the second, but i would LOVE to have it.

The 3G Blackberry aka the Blackberry Bold, IS AMAZING!!!!! i got to play with on, holy crap i love it. the interface is REALLY neat, and they changed the keyboard from the 8 series models.

The 8 is what I have now and I hate it lol. Leah is hemming and hawing about the iphone or the bold. I will send you my email and perhaps we can discuss it. How would you handle a sale without us being person etc...

Also, the login issues on the mobile version should be fixed.

Scratch that part about the domain. You can use any of the domains now (ayonae.com, m.ayonae.com, mobile.ayonae.com), and the board will autodetect your mobile device and give you the minimal style.

Palarran
06-30-2008, 03:20 PM
Is there a way to determine if the minimal style is being used? I tested it with a browser that doesn't even support tables, and while it was usable, I couldn't tell if it was due to the style or the browser's lack of functionality (or both).

Sanchek
06-30-2008, 03:23 PM
What's its user agent? I can explicitly add it.

Palarran
06-30-2008, 03:31 PM
Heh, I'm not sure.
Don't worry about it, it's mostly a novelty anyway.

Sanchek
06-30-2008, 04:58 PM
If you change your mind, hit the RiP board with it unauthenticated, then view the "Who's online" page with user agents turned on from your normal browser, you can figure it out pretty easily.

Palarran
06-30-2008, 07:07 PM
User agent: "DSOrganize Web Browser"
I tried Okiwi ("Okiwi/0.2-Alpha (Nintendo DS)") too but it was even less functional.

Sanchek
06-30-2008, 07:21 PM
Try now. They should both get the mobile style.

Palarran
06-30-2008, 08:23 PM
I didn't notice any difference, so I guess they were already using the mobile style.

Kelraz Bladesinger

Lookz the same as before on Windows Mobile version of the Treo, not that it matters much to me.

Sanchek
07-01-2008, 09:26 AM
If you were going to mobile.ayonae.com before, it is basically the same. It wasn't working right for actually reading and posting before though, which is fixed now.

Also, it depends on the user agent that the WM browser is sending. If it's full IE and sending that UA, the board will respond with the regular style. I haven't messed with WM in a long time, so I'm not sure.

Yay got my iPhone today!

Does Ayonae show the mobile version for iPhones?

fildien
07-11-2008, 10:31 AM
Idk how to tell lol

Sanchek
07-11-2008, 10:32 AM
Does it look like normal, or very minimal with almost no visual styling?

fildien
07-11-2008, 11:15 AM
it looked very normal for me

Sanchek
07-11-2008, 11:17 AM
Is it decently usable? I can detect the iPhone user-agent and serve it the mobile version instead, but maybe that's not necessary?

fildien
07-11-2008, 11:24 AM
I had no issues at all. My only issue is getting used to the iphone itself. But this site looked just it normally does only smaller.

Sanchek
07-11-2008, 11:27 AM
Cool. Thanks for testing it out.

Sanchek
07-11-2008, 12:42 PM
BTW, to reduce confusion about the mobile version, it should look something like this:

http://ayonae.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=323&stc=1&d=1215794456

Heh, that was bigger than I thought it was...

fildien
07-11-2008, 04:36 PM
saw I definitely prefer the iPhone look:)

Just viewed the site on my ipod touch and it looked just dandy!

Kelraz Bladesinger
07-20-2008, 10:59 AM
It still looks exactly the same on my phone (Treo running Windows Mobile) or via firefox at home for me, is it supposed to look different?

fildien
07-21-2008, 10:11 PM
ok first complaint.... Leaving rep is difficult for me. I click button it pops up I go to type and box disappears:(

giena
07-22-2008, 09:34 AM
rep add worked for me. Small box but is due to small screen!

fildien
07-22-2008, 12:04 PM

Sanchek,

How do you turn off the mobile interface for iPhone? I'm really not a fan of it and I'd rather keep all the features since MobileSafari is a great browser and is very capable.

I still get the standard interface if I don't log in though.

Sanchek
07-22-2008, 01:22 PM
Make sure you didn't set your style to the mobile one. It's not supposed to be manually selectable, but you'd have access to change it.

Malse

Is there some magic way to make the mobile site usable? I've tried all sorts of settings on the BB but it's not remotely worth fighting with 20 minutes of pan'n'scan to read a post.
