Great it looks from this that NK said FU World I am going to test it anyway. For the members of the armed forces that may be sent over that frequent here my heart and support goes out to ya. I hope that this can be taken care of with sanctions and diplomacy and not a war there again.

Well it has been reported that there has been no seismic activity that would indicate there was an underground nuclear explosion.

Well North Korea would certainly be a more legitimate target than Iraq was before we entered.

USGS registers a 4.2 quake in North Korea.

There is a better chance of monkeys flying out of Dick Cheneys ass than us invading North Korea... sorry, just not enough profit there to make it worth it.

Profit is a subjective thing....
If it saves money to spend money, then it's worth it....
I think China will step in on this one, though.

So, extremely bad evidence of WoMD in Iraq leads to full scale invasion.

The actually testing of a nuclear bomb in N.Korea leads to... wagging of fingers?

Me no get.

North Korea offers nothing..unlike going into Iraq and trying to install a democracy which stablizes the entire shit whole of an area. Now this isn't what I beleive of course but its what the administration actually believes.

Now what if perhaps the entire Iraq plan worked and everything was going along all peachy...one would think we would already of invaded North Korea.

The only reason to get shaken up about NK would be that they like to sell weapons and technology. Other then that there is still speculation the bomb was a dud(Drudge if you wanna read).

It was only a 'dud' because there's an election in four weeks. To admit to failed policy this close to an election could be political suicide for the party in power that allowed this to happen. But But Clinton all you want, but there was actual tangible progress in North Korea before GW took office and he shrugged it all off.

I put the time line as 6 weeks due to the elections. The current administration would not want to start another conflict until the party in power finds out if it is still in power. I feel if the Republican Machine is still in after the election it will be a couple weeks till we tell the UN to bite our shiny metal butts and then we will be attacking NK. It also would take a few weeks to get our first strike defenses in place I would say.

Ok now say the Dem’s win the election. It will take 2 or so weeks to make them feel guilty in America’s eyes and force them to go in to N Korea, and the out going administration will try to pass it before they have to vacate their offices.

I do not know what to think of this action. Yes I am scared. I am scared for all the innocent people there. I am scared that if we do attack them will the Chinese come to their defense. I am scared the beautiful country that I visited in my youth and as an teen will disappear. I am scared for my Korean Aunt my uncle married many years ago and brought most of her family here. I remember visiting the air base that my Dad spent many a night with others in his flight. They were to be the forward air controllers dropped behind the DMZ to lead the war if there was one. I remember seeing the B-52’s guarded 24 hours a day that were loaded and ready to bomb, and remember Dad pointing out which one was “Hot” as he put it. I grew up in the end of the Cold War, and I was happy when it ended. I was glad when I was in high school when my Dad retired just after Gulf 1. I now devote my life to helping educate young people and do what I can for our new and old veterans alike.

I hope this can be taken care of with Diplomacy and sanctions, but I know that anymore Diplomacy is done down the barrel of a gun so who knows what is going to happen. To Trikki and all of that still serve Thank you and I hope the only time you go to Korea is vacation (or to make a quick 15k to bring back the massage girls.)

Right now this is more of a problem for Japan, China and Russian than for us. But if we dont unfreeze NK's assets, it might look like a good idea to sell the devices he has on the open market to raise capital, this is the real threat to NK going Nuclear. If we go in unprovoked I suspect China may not do anything, we are one of if not the largest importer of thier goods, thier economy relies on us as much as ours rely on thiers. NK is a sponser state, one that as of late has caused a great deal of Face to be lost by the leadership in China. I am not positive but I would put the odds around 60/40 China letting us handle it with force if necessary, the only real wild card would be the refugee problem for China.

that having been said, we dont have the means right now to wage a three front conflict, in terms of machines, men or air transport for supplies. we are already stretched pretty thin in all three categories.
