In the upper west side of New York City you have a very diverse population with a rapid exchange of ideas - you won't find someone small minded enough to support McCain 2.0 there: those folks will be living in the middle of rural America where they won't have to face their biggest fears (minorities, gays, pro-choicers, etc.).
