I've been here ten years, but I don't see the point anymore.
This used to be about community, friendship, a shared-history. Malse and San have made this about negativity, spitefulness, arrogance. The big prick himself makes every thread insufferable if it does not conform to his own, extremely hypocritical, views.
I guess he was right a few years back when he said he would close the forum down. He has made most people loose interest merely through his presence.
Perhaps it's giving him too much credit. The mass retirement of old-posters within the past three or four years has done much to diminish our little community regardless. It was great in its day and it's been kept together since largely through nostalgia.
I would say one thing to Rybit, though. Seriously think about whether you should keep San as a moderator. For when this is all over and done with, you'll have him to thank for the forum's ultimate demise.
Most of the big oldies slip away quietly without a whimper. But I thought I owed a goodbye to a place I've been coming to first when I log on to my computer, for the past decade.
From my time in the Jokers, to Plane of Powers, to the mass retirement from EQ, to 9/11, the invasion of Afghanistan, Iraq, the countless, month-long debates on capital punishment and the differences between the US and Europe, all the way through to the capture of Bin Laden...Ciao chaps - It was a glorious pleasure!
In the words of Bilbo Baggins:
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.
*whistles and walks off*
