(yeah, I'm a dumbass hehe), what other viable alternatives is there for a free messageboard besides EzBoard?
Keep in mind that I don't have a lot of experience managing these things. I want something that is easy to use, able to be divided up via rights management (can't have the membership knowing what the officers are up to) and most importantly, easy to find.
I just went to our site and all of our posts are gone. The numbers show up, but when I get into them, they're completely blank. Is this a server issue, or is this something that ezboard does?

phpBB seems pretty easy to setup if you have host that supports it.
as far as your posts go are you sure you don't have a filter of some sort on? like only show recent posts?

There was a message sent out to board admins on EZBoard... they were hacked and a large number of boards were deleted or posts removed. They are working on the issue at this time.
Most of the affected boards were restored but there are some that are still having problems.
Check your EZBoard mail and there should be a note about it.

I was able to get the SMF messageboard system running on a Linux box, so it's not TOO bad. Heh. Several people I know use it (I was asking questions about it on the Real Life section).
It's here: http://simplemachines.org/

phpbb.com
It's pretty easy to set up. You download a folder full of files, change the folder name to Forums or whatever, upload it to your host, and open a file to do the setup stuff. After that, you can apply themes and fully customize everything.

Hmmm, still waiting for a response from my ISP to see if the space that comes with my broadband will suffice as a host.
Thanks for all the suggestions folks.
And yes Fil, EzBoard is teh Suck!

I think http://www.myfreebb.com/ offers free PHPBB based forums, but performance can be somewhat spotty at times. AFAIK it's absolutely free though. The paladin class forums moved to them early this year, and they seem to work pretty well, other than the performance issues. But at no cost, it's not something to really complain about.
