This was my take on the event:

There were a few things I heard thru the grapevine and not necessarily from someone from Sony...

1. That they plan on making more AAs but they will be disposible ones where you buy a ability but after you use it you have to spend AAs again to make it available to you again.

2. They might have to have a level increase but want to avoid it.

3. They will consider changing something so Wizard's damage will be more in line with necros.

4. The AAs will cost more to obtain a ability than before.

If anyone was at the FF and heard other stuff or different than what I did...post it...I would be curious to hear about it.

The fan faire was fun this year. They had it at a Marriott Marquis in Atlanta GA. They served some very nice dinners, especially considering how many people (LOTS!!) they were serving. Brenlo(sp?) who moderated most of the evenings and events, (I bet he is one tired man after this weekend...lol) did a very nice job. He sure turned quite a few of those EQ players into entertainers...hehehe

They had a live quest that you do alot of running around the hotel and figuring out lore puzzles (not easy, let me tell you!). You had to collect 14 pieces and the top three winners from what I heard had 13. We finished with 12 (shucks) pieces and had a good time coming close. :)

They had the best of the best contest. Rangers are usually never picked as a class to play in it very often because they never win but this year one did....surprised us all. I can say it was one year that I feel someone won with some skill involved and not just dumb luck of avoiding the tigers the GMs let loose when people resort to just hiding in the arena.

The gentleman that won the best of the best, told me the story of how he beat all those necros and SKs to me something like this. The tigers were spawned, I picked the players off one by one by shooting arrows at them to break their FD and then proceeded to train the tigers over them. LOL He said he was invis when the tigers first spawned and they did NOT see invis...ha ha ha

Only two things that can think of off the top of my head that were not good or could change was...

1. The place the friday night, off site, club was at. It was like the salvation army group home. :( The club they used in Las Vegas the last two years were SO much better. :)

2. Make the gaming computers in the bazaar go all night long and not close them so darn early!! hehehehe

All and all it was a FUN time. Everyone was friendly and lots of nice folks. I would recommend it to anyone who has never been to a FF and still likes EQ to go next year. :)

Sorry the post was so long...hehehe

I had wanted to go but work prevented it :(

Many of my friends and guildmates went. But since they were involved mostly with EQ2 I doubt you saw them much except for maybe Coyote who tends to make lasting impressions regardless of where he goes. Also Niami Denmother from Trader's Corner another guildmate was in attendance as well as the crew from TenTonHammer.

They had dinner with Larry Elmore at the banquet lucky dogs. That would have been neat.

I heard many people say it was probably the best fan faires they'd ever been too. Glad you got to go though. Someone said it was Brenlo's birthday on Saturday I bet he's one tired man after all he did this past weekend.

I really wished I could have gone :( I'm definitely going to the next one.

Is there somewhere I can view a list of upcoming FF events?
