Monster missions are actually pretty damned fun, if yer restarting...can play with anyone, at any level, of any class, because they are self contained....

Too bad they nerfed the heck out of the xps on em this week, ah well

WB Fandros shoot me a tell in game when you are on. I usually am playing lao now with the new expansion out instead of tanra so shouldn't be hard to find me.

Ya because 3.5 aas in 20mins is fair? Riight. Especially for the extreme ease at which you can complete them. Plus the complete lack of risk, in that when you die you have to wait all of 20 seconds before you respawn, no xp penalty, no cr, and at (previously) 80% health.

That xp was twice as good as having an excellent xp group (rog rog pal (max slay undead) sham cler bard) in the best xp zone in the new expansion(game) chain pulling without break. Each mob hitting for 1600.

The proper term is "fixed".

The proper term is "fixed".dropping all missions to less than a full AA reward is not a fix, it's a nerf.

Sure, the easy werewolf one that took 15 minutes and netted 2.5 AA, that was overpowered and should have been dropped... but the exp drop was across the board; missions that took 40 minutes were also dropped to .6 AA, and that's kind of out of line.

lucky for us, the fix is in for the missions to be brought more to where they should be.

Welcome to EQ expansion 101..get em while you can because they always correct things the way they are ment to be. Its the same thing every single expansion release..hey lets loosen the reigns here and spark some interests..then BAM back to reality. When omens was released I remember mitigation was gone on slow for almost everything....then 2 weeks back to normal.

Risk vs reward reigns true. Monster missions have ZERO risk, and you can't lose? How could you expect xp comparable to high end grinding? Monster missions are fun and all, but i think they're better as just as medium that makes it possible to play with your casual friends without penalty, or vice versa if you're the casual.

Risk vs reward reigns true. Monster missions have ZERO risk, and you can't lose?Actually it's more Risk + time invested vs reward. missions that require a longer amount of ingame time should provide better rewards for the same or similar risk.

The risk difference between a monster mission and (for example) A DoN creator mission just barely exists. Both are trivially easy..

The issue then becomes, at least in my opinion, more time invested vs reward than risk vs reward... That's where the balance needs to be struck. A monster mission that takes you 40 minutes (ex: naggy) should definatly offer more than .6AA as the reward; otherwise people will do it once just to see it and and never bother again.
