Here's me with my Taiwanese haircut, Diesel t-shirt, and tight jeans (after shopping and carefully observing the metrosexuality of Hong Kong and Taiwanese citizens) in Bruce "Mei" Lee form while visiting the parental units in Los Angeles ...

Welcome back Rybit. You're sort of missing the shirtless aspect of Bruce Lee there... :p

They can't be truly metrosexual if they're wearing t-shirts instead of stripped shirts with popped collars.

Just be glad it didn't come to that. We might have had to put you down, to save you the misery.

Welcome back. That's quite some haircut. Hope you didn't bring the aroma of the "aromatic tofu" back from Taiwan. :D

Oh, jeez. I hate 臭豆腐 (Choudoufu).

I'm not sure what "choad-fu" is, but...I hate it, too.

Smelly Tofu (臭 = chou, smelly; 豆腐 = doufu, tofu)

The Lowdown:

This is one dish for the lion hearted. It may be a bit of a problem if you have big nostrils. If blue cheese and bitter durian don't get you, this may.

Eat it while holding your breath and it's a crispy and hot piece of fried tofu. Eat it with your eyes closed and its like eating crispy fried tofu at the back of a rubbish truck.

Well, this chow taufu (fried fermented bean curd) is as stinky as it comes. The fermentation technique is horrendous - they have been known to ferment the tofu with fish, fowl or poultry innards under sealed lids, for days and weeks. When they open and retrieve this science project afterwards, the whole neighbourhood knows or rather, nose it. Which was why this stall had to relocate from their previous place at the Chinatown Food Centre. The neighbouring stalls cannot tahan (stand) the smell and complained. His stall was vandalised by some who truly cannot tahan.

Did you look up any of the TW folks that play EQ? I played on The Nameless for a few years and got to know quite a few. Some good, some bad, just like all the servers and all the races.

I found the Taiwanese to be interesting. They were playing a game that had no support for their language lo~. They did a fairly good job of creating their own.

Anyway, welcome back!
