As the crisis worsens, the government's reaction keeps changing. Lawmakers in both parties are starting to gripe that the bailout is turning out to be far different from what the Bush administration sold to Congress.

But let's not forget the heartwarming words of the original section 8 -- don't worry, be happy!


Other planned uses of the bailout money have lawmakers protesting, although it is only fair to note there is nothing in the law that they just wrote to prevent those uses.

I did my part and called my Reps and said F-NO to the bailout! /shrug

How does that go? "fool me once shame on you! fool me twice.....Can't fool me again" ?

So basically what we have is a Katrina-like response which gives some large corporate entities a shit load of cash (Remember both Halliburton and Blackwater got billions in contracts and did nothing yet still got paid) to do whatever they want and basically leave the rest of us to stand on our roofs and wade around in polluted water while the government officials patrol with weapons ready with shoot on site orders if any of us get out of line.

I don't think anyone in anyone could have written a better apocolyptic vision in a movie.
