So the Illinois legislature impeaches this guy, the investigation of him has gone on for over 3 years with no charges against him.

It is now coming out that he allowed medicare patients to get prescription drugs from Canada which saved millions of dollars but it seems it pissed off the drug companies and the legislators who they supported, this along with his cutting off Bank of America kind of makes one wonder why he is really a target.

No, thats not accurate. He was heard on tape saying "I'm not just giving this thing away" That is all he said.

Regardless of whether or not he did something illegal, it's pretty obvious why he's getting prosecuted.

Are you saying he was not looking to trade the appointment for a cabinet post or actual money for the seat? Because everything I've heard sure points in that direction. Of course, no media report can ever be fully trusted, and technically he is innocent until proven guilty.

I guess the details will come out in the federal trial, one way or another. I'm content to let the jurors decide if he's a crooked snake that got caught or a misrepresented public servant who is not corrupt.

Well, safe bet that he's crooked; However, the question is whether or not he tried to sell/trade the senatorial appointment, for which the actual evidence so far has been fairly sketchy. I don't care how crazy he is, people like that have dozens of advisers that would have sent him straight to a plea bargain if he was obviously guilty.

That is speculation. You said he was caught on tape doing so, and that is not correct. Hopefully a jury will listen to the evidence, and make a decision of guilt or innocence based on evidence and not on "speculation".

The guy is giving all appearances of being a candidate for a short bus, but guilt must be decided based on facts.

I'm saying I find it quite odd that he has been investigated for 3+ years and this is what they charge him with "This appointment is valuable, I'm not just giving this away"

It is said that you can indict someone for a ham sandwich...so if there is all of this so called evidence against him...then indict him. But obviously something is amiss here...Fitzgerald has asked for an extension of the grand jury...someone seems to be having trouble finding something.

Also note, the news is reporting that he is "crazy". Based on what? They give the example that he gave his response to the impeachment and had a group of people who have been helped by him...gee...no politician ever parades anyone out to score points.

I heard that there was some seious contention between him and some state legislators, those legislators happen to be very cozy with banks and drug companies.

No, thats not accurate. He was heard on tape saying "I'm not just giving this thing away" That is all he said. Transcripts of the tapes say he got a $500,000 bid from Jesse Jackson's kid, and that he was dissing that bid because he got a million dollar bid from someone else.

Unless money changed hands, intent is too gray of an area to prosecute in some of these types of crimes. He can say he was trying to expose others' willingness to engage in buying a seat, and who is going to prove otherwise?

I would like to believe he is a snake, but I want to see absolute proof before I condemn someone.

So if that is illegal then why no indictment from Fitzgerald?

Does anyone believe anything Jesse or his son says?!
