That's not the reason EQ2's graphics bug me personally, but it's totally true. Especially the eyes. Looking at the skin around 3D eyeballs usually reminds me of watching someone touch their own eyeball with their finger, while scratching their nails on a chalkboard.

Faervas and I talked about this a couple of months ago when I had a very negative reaction to EQ2's character graphics. This phenomenon is pretty familiar to folks in the art world, and one wonders whether SoE bothered actually talking to any (artists, that is ;) ) before embarking on that ghastly claymation project they decided to make of their graphics...

It's highly stylized, but I strongly prefer WoW's cartoon graphics, and even EQ1's animation, to EQ2's macabre playdoh look.
