So at work I have several new PCs that I need to image with an image I have been refining for a while. I loaded up the ghost boot disc yesterday (an old version here, but has worked numerous times in the past) and created the newest image that I wanted to replicate. Fine, no issues getting into Ghost and creating the image.
Well today, I put in the Ghost Boot Disc, and the PC just hangs at the Windows 98 splash screen before it goes into Ghost. Try another PC, same thing happens. Then I try the Ghost Boot Disc on the machine I created the image from yesterday, and it's stuck at the splash screen as well. Like I said, I booted from this disc on this specific PC yesterday.
I tried my other Ghost Boot Disc just to see if I somehow did some damage to my other copy and the same problem is still happening. Any ideas why it won't get past this splash screen? I have tried Googling for a long time today, as I didn't want to ask here if a solution was easily researched. I am getting very frustrated.
Help please.

Can you get either disc to work on any machine at all now? I had a new machine with a faulty CDROM drive once that damaged a series of three OS installation discs before I figured out what was happening.

I've tried loading the GBD (both discs I have), and it's not working on any of the three, including the one I used one of the discs on yesterday to create the image I want to replicate.

I also didn't mention that all 3 PCs are brand new. In fact the first two I tested today were removed from the box immediately before I tried to boot them from the GBD, if that matters at all.

That's exactly what happened to me that time. New machine that ate a string of CDs.

Well fuck, I don't have anymore copies of it...
any other ideas barring that being the issue?

Do you have any other bootable discs? OS media?
What happened to me might not even be your problem. Just thought I'd mention the possibility since it happened to me once before.

Apparently it fucking matters which usb ports on the back of the PC I used for the keyboard and mouse. Why that mattered if this worked or not, I will never know, but after doing that, it's working now.
Yes I'm bitter after dicking with this all day that that being the issue. Whowouldathunkit.

Back i nthe day I had an issue with a Packard HEll my uncle broguht over for me to fix. Turns out the piece of crap needed it's keyboard or it would not boot up. Another funny keyboard story I was working at Computer City and I loved the ibm keyboards because they were heavy and could put up with abuse. Well turns out the ibm keyboard I had would not allow any HP computer I pluged it into to function. I thought that it was kinda funny.

EDIT: Double post. I blame Rybit and his server downtime.

If you can get your hands on a Ghost 14 boot disk, use that. It boots up a little PE Vista that supports a TON of hardware / configs. Then you can load up the version of ghost you normally use onto a thumb drive, pop it in and load Ghost32 from the command line utility it gives you. Works like a charm for me when I run into issues on newer systems, or systems with RAID.
