My guess would be if you want to disparage your opponent it is a bad Idea to show him in front of huge crowds waving american flags and while he has a personable smile.

It's almost embarrassing...they look like desperation ads to me. I've lost any smidgen of respect I had for John McCain the man...didn't have any left for the GOP in general.

"New McCain ad says Obama doesn't visit the troops while showing a picture of Obama visiting the troops." I saw something like that the other day.

I saw Andrea Mitchelle today get her ass handed to her by the McCain dude.
God, she is so weak. She just let him steamroll her. Please God, don't let this ninny anywhere near MTP.

Rove may not be available, depending on what the committee citing him for contempt of Congress is able to get done.

The McCain campaign is a fucking train wreck.
Lets put it this way: Its August 1st and they don't even have a slogan. All the McCain camp has is who he isn't. Either he isn't Bush or he isn't Obama. But he really isn't anything. The negative ads are all he has. Usually these things start in late September, but this early? Desperation. Pure and simple.
Its like amateur hour over there. Obama will break 290 easily. My early guess is 300 to 238.

This does not take into account a certain party relationship with Diebold.

They should get Karl Rove back in there... Rove has fled the US to avoid testifying in front of Congress.

Watching the news tonight was fun, seeing McCain taking a question from a woman in the audience regarding his ad, and was that not flip-flopping on his earlier commitment, and he replied that campaigns are a tough business and he was proud of the ads his campaign has put out.
I wonder how many more folks turned away from him with that simple exchange....
L2 is right, his campaign is a train wreck with no obvious engineer running it.
Rather than attempt to find a focus for the campaign to energize on, they instead seem to be dedicating their energy to flinging poo at Obama in the hope he might react badly at some point and give them something more to work with. They are obviously scared.

They keep spreading rumors of him picking Gov. Palin as his VP. I hope to god they don't I don't want to see her go down in flaming wreckage like McCain is. I think he has lost his god damned mind. Now as long as Obama doesn't pick Mike Huckabee or Hillary Clinton as his VP I can safely vote for him and know that I'm not causing armageddon.

LOL, at first glance my immediate reaction was, WTF? Michael Palin as a Veep? Would the rest of the Monthy Python members end up in the cabinet?
And could that actually be an improvement over the status quo? :D

It's a non-issue when you sit down and look at the facts.
The Trooper (Wooten) she wanted fired had been caught drinking beer in his squad car, tasered one of his kids (IIRC) and a host of other illegal/unethical things. His boss didn't want to fire him for it so she canned his boss. (Monegan)
Where it gets tricky, the trooper she wanted fired also happened to be her sister's ex-husband. So now to try and save his job the former director is crying foul saying it's all a family dispute when really, he fucked up and didn't follow orders.
And besides our governor is hot.

Well.
She will remain your Guv. Thats the good news. With this unresolved, there is no way that McCain will choose her.
Doesnt matter if there is anything there or not, the press plays this for 2 news cycles as it gets hashed out on a national stage. Thats 14 days out of, at this day, 96.
Nah it'll be Romney.
Elemak the Enchanter

If he picks Romney he might have a chance. Otherwise I just see John McCain going down in flames over the next few months.

I think Obama could pull out a .357 magnum, and shoot someone in the head at this point, and still win the Presidency.
Most people would say whoever he shot, probably had it coming.

If he shot hillary I think he'd get a "dead bitch bounce" in the polls :p at least a good %20

I don't see much positive press about Obama,it's all negative and as far as McCain goes he's slamming out the commercials here and it seems from the news he has everyone focused on Paris Hilton.
I don't see any substantive news on either of these guys, nothing on any policies or any reports saying what the implications would be if either was to put in place their ideas, and as far as press on the libertarians or Ron Paul other than what Sanchek or Bylimet has posted I see a big nothing from CNN, NY Times, ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox on any third party candidates.
I venture to say we're getting fucked again.

You're probably right.
Olbermann is the only one in the mainstream media that even mentioned this recent info about Cheney scheming up a false flag event with Iran:

There is a dirty little secret the pollsters and the networks arent you.
Polling is way off for this election as Obama voters are being massively under represented. A guy I work with has a side job working for the Quinnippiac Poll at the college, which is about 10 miles from where I live. The major problem is that they can only poll LAND LINES.
In the last 5 years, how many people do you know that have gone to only using cell phones? As a teacher who has to make 5 phone calls home to various families a week I can tell you there is a very large percentage of people who have do not own land lines in their homes. This is especially true in African American families, who are going to come out in massive numbers for Obama this year.
Whatever Obama has, add 5 to 10 points.
Kanyli

That's what I was alluding too - although with the explosive growth of cell phones and the fact that lower income households are more likely not to have any land line, most phone polls are skewed these days.
Interesting Olbermann piece Sanchek, that's the first I've heard of that. Please oh please someone get these people out of office.

I can't believe any thinking rational human being would vote for them again by supporting McShame, but then I said the same thing last election. Of course, it doesn't help the cause when Obama flip flops constantly on almost all issues. The Dems are almost as stoopid as the GOP is evile.:)

One of the greatest sorrows I have in my life right now is the knowledge that our government and elected reps are too corrupt/timid/ignorant (take your pick or offer another adjective) to initiate a comprehensive investigation of Dick Cheney spanning the last sixteen years. His offenses have been blatant, his disregard of the Constitution and the American people flagrant, and yet we get nothing more than a shrug and sweet talk from Pelosi and Reid, and flat-out denial from the GOP big shots.
It is still my conviction that Cheney wants a war with Iran to attempt the destruction of evidence of his and Halliburton's activities there. They were fined for providing oil equipment to Libya that could also be used for nuclear projects, so why would they not have been doing the same with Iran?
Our country is going to continue it's downward spiral regardless of who is elected, if we continue to let this shit slide without being challenged and looked at more closely.
