If only we'd gotten these guys working on the Transformers movies they might not have sucked as hard hehe.

Right, but selling out is when you make your music more mainstream, not totally unlistenable.

How did they sell out????? So after 30 years of making music they are supposed to sound exactly the same? Fuel is a good song, one of my favorites off Load/Reload

Fuel is one of the few good songs they put out during the 90s and early 2000s. IMHO of course.

Right, but selling out is when you make your music more mainstream, not totally unlistenable.

That's arguable, selling out would be MxPx, who signed and got "famous" on a christian label, and spoke out about their beliefs, then get a ton of money to go mainstream and start cussing, openly drinking, and going against their previously stated beliefs.

I think a more acurrate statement is that mainstream drifted towards what Metallica was. Its hard to say someone is a sell out when most rock bands say Metallica was their influence.

unlistenable? have ever listened to ...And Justice for All?

The black album was ok, but you could see where it was headed. The new stuff isn't nearly as good.

They're talking about Metallica then, not now.

They aren't my favorite band, probably don't make my top 5.
