I found this article and thought it was interesting and a sign of the times. It has to do with kids' cell phone/internet addiction in Japan but probably is related with almost any country these days (maybe even some of us back in the prime EQ days ;))

Some youngsters are spending hours at night on e-mail with their friends. One fad is "the 30 minute rule," in which a child who doesn't respond to e-mail within half an hour gets targeted and picked on by other schoolmates.
