So I'm sitting at the doctor's office rummaging through their old mags and come across Time from June 12, 2006. And I see a story about my 2nd cousin, it was kind of neat.

Heath Shuler is cousin I'm referring to. I was told he was running for the Congressional seat in my hometown area of Western NC but it was surreal to see him in Time Magazine. If he wins he will usurp Rep. Charles Taylor who has held the seat for as long as I can ever remember.

My sister was invited to help with his campaign. One of those timing things, she was at a some local function and someone recognized her and asked if she'd like to help out. She started today at his Asheville headquarters. Though we're only second cousins it's still kind of neat :D I'm expecting to hear from her tonight how things went.

The word from the family is that there's much hype and that he just might pull it out.

Taleren he's already won the primary and is going against Taylor in November.
