We lost one of the great baseball players yesterday, with the death of Kirby Puckett following a severe stroke. May he rest in peace.

My son grew up idolizing Kirby, as did so many other Minnesota kids, as well as kids all over the country. His impact was felt off the field in Minnesota though his charity pool tournament and other community activities, and he was a major part of Minnesota getting two World Series Championships.

I dug through my memorabilia collection last night, and found two autographed cards and an autographed cap. They bring back some good memories.

Definitely a sad day. He was a good guy and a great player :(

I hated the Twins, but secretly loved Kirby.
