Since this is also a Movie forum, I wanted to mention two great movies I have recently seen from Korean film-makers.

Lady Vengeance and Oldboy are both stories of revenge, taken to some rather extreme measures. The director of Oldboy (sorry, name not handy) is a big fan of Hitchcock-style mystery, and has done a great job of putting on fim one of the most convoluted, in-depth tales of revenge i have yet seen. I recommmend this movie highly, and Lady Vengeance almost as much, tho' it was the more difficult of the two to watch, due to the direction.

Oldboy really blew my socks off, thinking of the lengths someone went to for the sake of vengeance.

Edit: I should mention I got these both via Netflix, if anyone is interested.

I really want to see both of them. Park Chan-wook is the director, and a very fine one at that. Also looking forward to The Host, another Korean import and evidently a very well done big monster flick.

Much as I hate to say, I wasted an evening watching "The Host" this week, and it was a complete disappointment. While there are a few snippets here and there that might give reason to like the basic ideas woven through the film, the disjointed undeveloped plot line and characters make this seem more of a high school project than the film that was supposed to be the next best thing in the horror genre.
