I have it pre-downloaded at the house, but currently am still in the hospital with my son (ruptured appendix) so haven't had a chance to play it today yet....

Previews look pretty sexy!

Demo was fun, I don't recall guitars decapitating that cleanly in real life. Not too thrilled about splitting the playerbase although I usually play with the same friends anyway. Will probably wait until it's on special.

This game is awesome. Apparently you get L4D1 for free through Steam too.

Are either of these any good to play alone?

They're a bit short for single player games, but you can. l4d2 has 5 episodes that take about an hour each, although being slightly harder than l4d, the AI-run good guys don't really cut it as well.
