So i go out last night and treat myself to a present. I get the Halo3 XBox. I unpackage it and marvel at the battleworn look of the machine and drool as i load up the game. I setup my xbox live account and play story mode to get used to controls, i then decide to load up my first online match and just as thats happening, my 6 year old nephew with a full cup of milk, trips and COVERS my xbox in milk, there is a spark and then nothing. My xbox is fried, it was less than 1 hour old...

I love him but should i be able to murder him?

Also, Gamestop of course laughed at me even asking if i could exchange it, any thoughts on a possible situation to get me playing again?

Ohhh, Greystone, I feel for you. I'm enough of a klutz myself, and did similar once to a brand new microwave (don't ask) but if I had rugrats running loose in my mess I'd be in real trouble. And I'm sure he was petulantly, uncomprehendingly, disgustingly *cute* in his (is this a word? ;) ) sorryness... ;)

Good luck with your blood pressure and with being able to replace it soon. I'm hopelessly in debt from a recent move and keeping Faervas in art school, else I'd start a fund for you ;)...

Regards,
Nydia

I don't know about murder but I would have needed to beat something. You might try getting M$oft to fix it but that will take 3-6 weeks probably and who knows how much it will cost you.

The only reasonable thing is to have him pay for it when he turns 18. By then, with 5% interest, its only $427.58 due.

ask his parents if they will pay for it since it's their kid. I know if my daughter ruined somones X-box I would pay for it. I wouldn't be happy about it, but ultimately I am responsible for her actions.

Just return it as not defective. Then buy another one. Make sure you dry off all evidence. Don't worry about bad Karma, Sony has overcharged us for years anyway.

How to babyproof a house:

1. Install deadbolt locks.

2. Check ID at the door, and only allow in those over 18 years.

Anything else is 50-50; hell, even with 18 years olds it is only 70-30.

But when talking about your electronics, you take whatever precautions you can.

With two children, and three grandchildren, I was being serious. :D

If you want a house baby-proofed, you don't have babies in it.

Murphy's law > all.

My house babyproofing schematic ends up looking a lot like the Temple of Doom.

A baby won't get 2 steps into my house without getting it's head sliced off. SUCCESS!

I haven't played it in probably 9 months, but I'm on my third PS2. First one was a first gen, and we all know how well those worked long term. Second one, my daughter dropped a toy on when she was about 9 months old, and it never worked again... so I feel for ya man.

The upside of this is that you own this 6 year old for the rest of his life. Whenever he complains to you about why can't he (insert stupid action here) when you are in charge, tell him he can do it when he gets you a new xbox.

This is not so useful now, but it will be quite handy 10 years from now.

(long term thinker here!).

So MANY opportunities to torture this kid, why waste them all by murdering him?
