Hehe, yes my inner child is screaming with excitement as if I'd kept him off his riddies for an entire week and then funneled a bag of sugar down his throat!

Patching now, will let you know how it plays out. :D

Hehe, well had the opportunity to play it a bit yesterday (Right now, the servers are only up Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays).

I have to say, it is: F-U-N!

There's no levels (at least not that I've seen so far). You advance by increasing your health, your imagination and through getting different weapons, armor and even "body parts" IE: A torso/shirt with stats that armor can go over.

VERY easy to pick up and play, even in beta. My son loves it and to be honest I'm having a blast with it myself. If you have ever played Star Wars Lego, or any of the other of that type (Indiana Jones, Batman) then you'll feel a little bit on familiar ground, though I must say this feels more fun.

If you get the chance, go to the site and register for beta, you'll see what I mean hehe.

Sweet, I signed up for beta a few weeks ago, but haven't heard anything yet. I look forward to hearing more about the direction of this game.

I watched the IGN series of LEGO Universe gameplay videos on youtube, this game seems like it could go either way for me, but will be interesting to try nonetheless.

If only Netdevil would make more MMO's, I'm honestly convinced they could give Blizzard a run for their money.

An MMO hasn't been this easy or fun to pick up from the start since I was beta testing WoW!

Got it on pre-order and waiting for the custome minifigure hehe. The latest update brought in all the mini games. Building your own race car and then actually racing against other players is the shit! Love this game more and more with each patch hehe. LOADS of fun. Probably not for the hardcore crowd, but for the casual gamer, it'll entertain young and old alike. I still grin like an idiot everytime I play it hehe, makes me feel like a kid again.

Ok, still playing this on the weekends when Beta is open. This game just went from solid and cute to ADDICTIVE! Finished the quest for the four faction tokens and then you have a choice between two classes per faction. You're not limited to gear for your faction mind you, but there are bonus's when you use all of a set. If you haven't applied for beta already, and you're looking for some fun you can enjoy with your kids (or for when the kids go to bed ^_^ ) this is definately worth a look in. Game launches in October with Pre-orders getting to play starting Oct 12th. Already got mine bought....for my six year old....stop looking at me....Don't Judge ME! =D

I'm sure my daughter would like this. I probably would too. You happen to have a beta buddy invite lying around?

Unfortunately no, but if you go to the lego.com website, you should see a link taking you to the LEGO Universe section. The game is releasing in October, so I would think it wouldn't be too hard to get into beta. The gaming sessions are normally during the weekends, though I hope they open up the servers all week soon. I'm literally going through withdrawal here hehe. It's not as serious as EvE or requires the time commitment of WoW, but it's definately family friendly and VERY fun to play. Unlike a lot of the browser based MMO's (IE: Club Penguin, SOE's Star Wars The Clone Wars, etc), this one has a lot of depth, including pets (that actually do things like dig up treasure!), unique loot, personal building property, mini games that produce special items and an achievement system that would keep any XBox player or WoW nut happy.

This looks fun, I just wonder what the in-game communication is like. Is it going to end up like Sims Online (also designed for the same age group) where everyone will get harassed or involved in their mafia or prostitution rings (I wish I was kidding). That game became quite inappropriate for my sister real fast.

Actually, they moderate this game like crazy. All names have to be approved (temp names are given via three spin wheels while your name is being checked) and the chat window is like cybernanny on steroids. Instead of filtering out words it thinks are wrong, it red flags them and will not let you actually enter the chat until you take out the offending words.

I just got into the beta... SQUUUEEEEEE!

The only downside is only being able to play on the weekends, though I suspect it's going to open up soon.

The game is cute at first, but once you get all four badges for the four factions and you choose your faction and class the game completely changes!

Ok, had the most fun in an MMO ever the past few days. Felt like a steady stream of crack hehe. Seriously, anyone that can, I recommend trying to get into the beta. Found out that the game will have a monthly fee of $9.99 USD. Worth every penny. No other MMO had a better achievement/reward system or has nailed the sandbox style better than LEGO Universe. Sounds silly I know, but damn I just can't get enough of this game.

Hint: For those playing the beta, make sure to check out your achievements window, they tell you exactly what you need to do to get whatever gear they offer you.
