I sent a couple emails to B, checking to make sure he's alright. However, I'm almost sure he's tied up having fun with his (relatively) new woman and his kids, and probably just doesn't have the time anymore.
Does anyone feel like stepping up to get some lines running again?

Does the person that sets the lines still get to bet?

I don't see a big problem with it. I'm pretty sure B placed bets.
Plus, the lines are pretty objective in most cases. Shouldn't be any huge conflict of interest issues.

If you can give me a quick run through on how to do it and where he got his lines from, I'll give it a whirl.

I made you a sports board moderator.
When you post a new thread, you should see a vBookie option. Check that on a new post, take a look at that, and let me know if you have any questions about how it works. Feel free to make some test events. You'll have the ability to delete them, not have them pay, etc for messing around.

Ok so I open a new thread, hit vbookie option and then what? I was trying to post lines for the KY Derby, but I couldn't get it to work.

I can't figure out how the NHL lines work with stuff like -110, -105, etc. Doesn't make sense to me, so unless someone can explain it too me well, we won't be seeing those lines. Also, I put up the other two lines yesterday when my wife was bitching at me to do other stuff. You'd be surprised how long it takes to add 34 lines for a nascar race or 20 for a horse race.
I had planned to do the NBA lines, but I ran out of time.

I don't know much about betting on NHL per se, but the -110 are money lines ( as opposed to the point lines you are used to seeing with football ). Pretty sure soccer ( euro football ) and baseball don't usually have point lines also, but use money lines ( point totals are too low in those sports ).
Money lines work as a even point line, but you win based on the money line. -110 means you need to bet $110 to win $100. A money line of +130 would mean you would win $130 for every $100 you bet.
Houston Astros -110 vs Florida Marlins +130. Astros are the favorite and the Marlins are the underdoog. I bet $100 on the Marlins, if they win, I get $130. You bet $110 on the Astros, if they win, you win $100.
What I don't know is if vBookie can handle money lines.

well for an over it would be easy, it would be like 1.3 to 1, the other way would be more interesting. I'll have to decide of the extra work for those are worth what traffic they will get. I'll do the math for some of these tomorrow and see what kind of action we can get on them.

You should be able to delete your threads/posts now. I guess that usergroup was never set up right.
