Kind of need help, while I was on vacation my roommate was suing my computer, and now I get random popup windows to various sites that opens.. I have a popup blocker running, ut for some reason it doesnt stop it. I tried running a spyware scan multiple times, all with out any success. I also ran an anti irus scan but it didnt find anything either. not to mention that my virus definition is over 5 months out of date due to an expired subcription ((darn Nortons)).
Does anyone have any idea on where I should look and locate the file(s) that is causing these popup or recomend a new / good anti spam / virus program I should look into?

Pop-Up Stopper Free is the best free (and least intrusive) stopper I have ever used (now I just depend on IE7 tho). Get it from panicware.com and you should see a link for the free version somewhere.
For a virus scanner I suggest AVG Free Edition. One of the best antivirus programs hands-down (especially when considering the $0 price tag) and it doesnt have ads or anything.

as for virus protection, just go download KAV or something, and crack it.

Are the popups all to one particular site, or can you figure out which company they are from? Some popups are more insidious than others and require more than the usual scan to eliminate, especially if they're more of a virus than normal spyware. If you search for that particular company and a keyword like "removal" you should find solutions.
