Why? Is LSU gonna borrow a team from somewhere?
OOOOO,Thems fightin words!
The Big 12 is a pansy conference and you know it! :)
I could put my fecal matter in the big 12 and the AP would rank it in the top 5!
Put their asses in the SEC and see if they go undefeated!!

LSU isn't even going to win the SEC championship, much less make it to the national title game...lol

Yes, the big 12 is a pansy conference :rolleyes
Clueless.
Oh come on,who has Oklahoma played in the top 10?
Oklahoma has a cake walk to the national championship.
I can guarantee if Oklahoma had to play in the SEC,they wouldn't be undefeated.

you could say the same about the big ten, i highly doubt oklahoma would go undefeated in the big 10 either. This is simply a down year for the rest of the big 12, oklahoma looks great, but no other teams in the big 12 is even top 15 worthy. Hell TCU is higher in the bcs than the second team in the big 12 this year.
If you look at the bcs:
The big 10 has 5 in the top 20, #'s 5, 8, 11, 14, and 20
the SEC has 7,10, 13, 17
the big 12 has 1, 12, 18, 19
the big east has 4 and 6
if you go by that, i'd say that the big 10 has the toughest conferance this year.

*cough*
Ole Miss is undefeated in sec and lost to texas tech who is 3-2 in big 12.
Keep dreaming. Big 12 is -always- underrated in AP.

First off,ole miss is undefeated for the same reason Oklahoma is,They have yet to play any top teams in the sec such as,LSU,Auburn,Tenn,Georgia. They did play Florida, but it was when Florida was trying to get their feet under them still.
Second, how can you say the Big-12 is underrated when they have the #1 team in the nation, and that #1 team has yet to even play a top 10 team?
The AP and BCS cream themselves over the Big-12.
Look at poor Miami for god sakes. They had to play FSU,Tenn,VT,Florida and pitt.
Yet they lose ONE game and they are dropped out of contention.
Oklahoma had its biggest scare against the worst sec team Alabama where they squeaked out a 20-13 win.
Other than that OK has rolled over all nobody teams, yet they keep their ranking.
I just pray for the day the NCAA wakes up and goes to a 16 team playoff system so i can listen to all these has been "power houses" cry because they realize they sucked all-a-long!

the Sooners are the best team in college football right now, as a Bulldogs / Buckeyes fan I can tell you this honestly. They dismantled Texas and Roy Williams. I think Ohio State is overrated, Florida State underrated. Other than that, these are actually pretty solid rankings, not like in 2000.
What i cant understand is,how can you say they are the best team in the nation?
They haven't played anyone in the top 10,and barely won against a poor SEC team.
Put them up against ,Georgia,LSU,FSU,Miami, then tell me they are the best.

Florida was beaten by ole miss when they were "just getting their feet under them"? It was 6 games into the season.
Nice double standard there, pointing to OU only beating Alabama by 7, but the reason your tough sec team Florida is losing halfway through the season to "weak" teams is because they are "just getting their feet under them".
Big 12 is very underrated by the AP. In 99 for example Nebraska had just as many wins under their belt as Florida State, and KSU had as many as Virginia tech(with their only loss to Nebraska).
Teams like Nebraska, OU, KSU, OSU, Texas..you know teams that make bowl games every year and who have better records than say lsu or georgia so far this year. You only have to look back a little to see it. When SEC and Big 12 teams meet up it's either within a few points or the Big 12 team -spanks- the SEC team.
Don't take my word for it Xyln, just remember last season when Texas slaughtered your precious "Tigahs". Just imagine what it would have been like if instead of getting the team that doubled your teams score, you got the team that almost doubled theirs...

Looking at the modern era ( 1960 to 2002 ), here is the winning percentage by conference vs. conference breakdown
Big 12 vs.
ACC .597 ( 67 games )
Big East .544 ( 34 games )
Big 12 .502 ( 2829 games )
Big Ten .507 ( 212 games )
Pac 10 .532 ( 233 games )
SEC .467 ( 183 games )
Big 10 vs
ACC .681 ( 138 games )
Big East .667 ( 57 games )
Big 12 .478 ( 205 games )
Big Ten .500 ( 3455 games )
Pac 10 .484 ( 349 games )
SEC .393 ( 103 games )
SEC vs
ACC .622 ( 444 games )
Big East .5 ( 26 games )
Big 12 .541 ( 133 games )
Big Ten .606 ( 85 games )
Pac 10 .633 ( 79 games )
SEC .495 ( 3150 games )
The SEC is the only conference with greater than 50% winning percentages vs. other major conferences.
I'm sure someone is going to realize that the numbers don't match up in some cases. That is because the addition of Arkansas and South Carolina to the SEC in '92 and the addition of Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, and Baylor to the Big XII in '96. I ran the numbers with just the original Big 8, but the only differece that showed was a losing percentage vs. the SWC, which I decided was too embarassing to report.
Also note that the Big 12 is 2 and 1 vs. the SEC this season. I don't recall any Big 10 vs. SEC regular season games.

Big 12 = 52.9% vs other major conferences...5% behind the SEC(since 1960, which of course includes 36 years where the big 12 wasn't the big 12), and I think it would be a better idea to look at the winning percentages since 1996 instead. Considering all of the conference changes it's hard to call anything before that "the modern era", and it's the only way to really be accurate.

Just for fun:
Since 1920 OU is 9-4-2 vs SEC teams(.667).
Since 1920 LSU is 7-9-1 vs Big 12 teams(.441).
The last time OU played LSU the score was OU 35 LSU 0.
The last time OU played VT the score was OU 27 VT 17.
The last time OU played FSU the score was OU 13 FSU 2.
The last time OU played Tenn the score was OU 26 Tenn 24.
I just pray for the day the NCAA wakes up and goes to a 16 team playoff system so i can listen to all these has been "power houses" cry because they realize they sucked all-a-long!
I'd rather see a 32 team playoff system myself :)

Last time OU played Ohio State 24-17 OSU.
Nice double standard there, pointing to OU only beating Alabama by 7, but the reason your tough sec team Florida is losing halfway through the season to "weak" teams is because they are "just getting their feet under them".
For the record,i hate florida.Second, look at Florida's winning in the past 3 weeks starting with LSU and you'll see what im talking about.
Teams like Nebraska, OU, KSU, OSU, Texas..you know teams that make bowl games every year and who have better records than say lsu or georgia so far this year.
I think only OSU has the SAME record as my TIGAHS!
The rest of those big 12 teams have at least 2 losses i think.
and your charts and graphs are cute and all,but it doesntl list the teams the played in the SEC!
TIGAHS RULE! :)

Ok, since 1996 ( conference games removed, was 343/686 for both conferences )
All Conference ( Division 1-A )
Big 12
257 Total
164 won        63.8 %
SEC
231 Total
161 Won        69.7 %
Major Conferences ( BCS )
Big 12
115 Total
54 Won        47.0 %
SEC
108 Total
59 Won        54.6 %
And since I don't really care about non-SEC teams, that LSU games was 1949 and the Tennessee game was 1968.
Another signal of conference strength:
Bowl Games......SEC......B12
99..................2/6.......1/4
00..................1/8.......1/6
01..................2/5.......2/5
02..................1/6.......1/6
Where the first number is the number of BCS games the conference had, and the second is other bowl games with a member of that conference. Find another conference that had 9 out of 12 teams in a bowl game in recent memory.
