I have a pet project located at www.wararchives.net (http://www.wararchives.net) also at www.wararchives.org (http://www.wararchives.org)
I'm looking for direct contributions from those who have served in the military, reported from or ended up in a war or its aftermath. Looking for writing, photos any type of experiences you are willing to share.
The purpose of the site is to be a central point of information gathering on wars of the 20th and 21st centuries.
The site is politically neutral, the purpose is to archive war experiences.

Does it have to be people from this board? I never served during war time or in a war zone but I know a few who have. I can pass this on to them if you'd like.

It can be anyone. I posted here as there are a few here with some stories to tell.
Kevin Sites the reporter will also most likely be a contributor.

Hey anyone who wants to help is welcome! I'm wondering if it should go the way of a Wikipedia as being user driven but that can bring in some trash and people judging others actions and I don't want that.

Do you mean judging, as in the 502nd of the 101st being a proud outfit with some history judging that should Steven Green be found guilty of the murder and rape of Iraqi civilians he should be handed over to the Iraqi's to be dealt with as they see fit, or do you mean judging as in whether or not we should have involved ouselves in certain actions?
Anyway, I salute you for your endeavor here, Rover.

I mean non-judgemental in this type of sense: Lets take the My Lai massacre as an example. If someone was there and they write about their experiences there won't be a forum for comments on whether what the soldiers did was right or wrong, whether they are criminals or heroes, no place to comment on anyones actions.
Just a site to archive personal experiences of those people who were part of a war, either as soldiers, reporters, people who lived there as the war was fought in their countries, towns etc... basicaly eyewitnesses from, hopefully all sides of a conflict. Maybe somehow it will have a positive impact on someone somewhere.
Those are just my ideas, but as I said I welcome any input that people here or elswhere want to give.

Rover I have a lot of co-workers who covered both Iraq wars, and if thats something you would be interested in once you get a bit more established I can throw a link up on the ITVA and women in film and video message boards if you'd like.
