I picked up the domain www.warcraftboards.com (http://www.warcraftboards.com/) and am looking for a developer and promoter that would like to share potential profits.

I have recieved many offers to sell this domain, so I know it has potential to be a hot item, or a complete waste of time.

What we are trying to do is make a Magelo type system for WoW, linked to a message board. It would be similiar, offering premium and such. The goal is to have the users linked to a wow profile, and information about the character, and/or plugins they can use to track kills while in WoW, and upload to the board.

I would be taking care of all initial hosting and setup fees to get it launched, I am just not a programmer.

Drop a post here if interested, and links some previous work. You can email me at michael.fortino@gmail.com if you are not comfortable discussing it.

Ignore the board sitting there, it was a weak attempt by a Network Administrator to do web development!

Send this offer to some friends if you think they would be interested, as I am going to post this around a few places to see if I can get some other hits.

Basically you want data mining or they set the profile themselves?

I bet I know someone who could help quite a great deal.

unless your seriously wanting to spend hours on end getting that up and running not to mention getting the word out about your site then GL with that.. otherrwise sell and sell high.. I bet IGN would pay a hefty price for it.

Initially, it would be nice to just allow someone to have an online profile to pick from a selection of gear. The mining part can come later in the premium service.

Charging them for banner space would be much more fun.

How is this different than Thottbot or Allakhazam, is my biggest concern. If there's something that will make this better than the above 2, I could get it done for ya. However the competition in that market is fairly fierce and you're going up against someone who's had something like this going since beta.

An easy name to remember and an easy interface goes a long way sometimes.

How is this different than Thottbot or Allakhazam, is my biggest concern. The ability to toy with your profile? Like with magelo, do "dream", "soon", and be able to calculate easily if that phat axe of buttwhomping is a good upgrade (of course it is!!).
Those two "only" permit you to upload your profile in a database, but you can't change items unless your char has them.

It may be interesting to develop, now I'm sadly not in that branch of computering (long live to Cobol!!). I hope you'll find someone Tony H. ;)
