I just reactivated my account for a few months, in order to chat with old friends and such.

I don't have PoP or LDoN, and won't buy them. Have Luclin enabled, but won't spare the harddrive space to install it. Just going to hang out in oldworld and Kunark, playing my little shaman Bumbok, and maybe some other newbie chars. Mostly going the chat&solo route, but might group a bit as well.

My level 9 shaman have reasonable gear for his level. Fungi tunic, poison wind senser, flowing black silk sash, and such. My hiero cloak and SCHW:s kinda expired with a friend's account, lol.

Anyway.
Is there any cheap tradeable goods I should buy? I have no idea what the last expansions have brought, and while I can buy in the bazaar via friends, I can't visit it myself.

My primary thought is shaman potions. For starters, I know there is one potion for each shaman city. This could be convenient. But back in my days, they was kinda expensive. What do they cost these days, and what are their names? Primarily interested in Cabilis and Oggok.

I also heard that there are now shaman potions with illusions for every race. What do these cost? And more importantly, are "Iksar" Shamans of Rallos Zek KoS in Cabilis?

Any other potions or such I should take a look at?

Without the bazaar, a Luclin zone, you'll have a tough time buying anything. Nexus and Bazaar you definately are gonna want ... especially for travel around.

No Iksars are KOS in Cabilis.

Thanks for the iksar info. I'll buy a few of those potions then, so my ogre shaman kan bank in cabilis. I have invisibility potions allready. :)

Any idea what "illusion: iksar" potion costs, and what they are called?

As for the bazaar, I'll just hand my friends the cash and ask them to do the shopping for me. It's not that much of a favour to ask of somneone who have both PoP and Luclin, but it do mean that I need to know exactly what items I am looking for.

the new trend with all the expansions is to make every new 'vendor item' no drop. this makes the player (in your case) need to purchase the expansion in order to get it.

basically to make the illusion potions, all you need is a the type of meat/parts from what race you want to be (ie. iksar meat, gnome meat, barabian meat, troll parts). then you have a shaman combine the meat with a component from the LoY expansion called Wormwood. and that's it, you have hte illusion potion.

iksar illusion potions are called simply 'essence of iksar' or '5 dose essence of iksar' and they dont cost too much. maybe 100-200pp per illusion cast.

I'd be careful initially. Iksar illusion may not be enough to make you non-KOS throughout the city. My bard (follower of Quellious) can wander most of the city in iksar illusion, but is still hated by the necromancers, if I remember right.

Illlusions were nerfed. Expect to get ganked hardcore if you are KoS to any faction that you are normaly KoS to.

On another note, buy ldon, it's well worth it.

Several things.

A few friends are levelling in Kurn's, and I'm there too occasionally as Nazer. Drop by anytime if you can. It'd be cool to meet you.

One of the cooler things a friend did is to start a passworded chat channel and invite all of his friends. THe channel is always there, and our friends are always in the chat channel. Plus, they can get to it from outside EQ via EQIM.

If there's anything you'd like from bazaar, lemme know. I'll fetch it for you at bard speed.

Edeina,

Illusion potions cost about 76pp to make, but I wouldn't trust them too far in a place like Cabilis. All iksar worship Cazic-Thule, your RZ shaman may not have much success there.

"Gate to zone" potions cost 168pp to make. Shamans can also create a "gate to bind" potion for 252pp. Potion of the Swamp (Grobb/Oggok) and Potion of the Bone Field (Cabilis) are what you're looking for, I think (haven't made them in ages).

DS potions are very handy. They cost about 30pp per charge. The DS stacks with almost all other DS's (I think Call of Earth blocks it) and does (drinker's level/2) damage for (drinker's level/4) minutes.

Stat potions are kinda nice since SOE removed the negative effects. Str/Dex potion effects won't stack with Harnessing of Spirit or similar spells, but Sta potion effects do stack with shaman stamina spells. Other useful potions cost too much for too little really.

LDoN is great. Lots of droppable items there, and if you do enough adventures you can gear yourself in different ways. It's not too expensive and can be damn fun. I recommend it.

Illusions for playable races still change the racial adjustment component of faction as they always have. It's the NPC illusions (elementals, skeletons, etc.) that no longer affect faction. Strangely, druid/ranger wolf form spells were an exception to this; they did still affect faction last time I checked.
