Welcome to last week maybe? Just came across this. Had no idea anything like this was in the works till now. Will more than likely give it a shot regardless of how good/bad it might be due to being such a LotR fan.

It was in the works... then killed, then brought back. Their original design had permanent death as a feature and several other ideas that would have made the game very un-fun to play. The idea to make death not happen too often was to let you lay on the ground for hours before you actually died, so someone could come across your almost corpse and help you. Also, magic wasn't going to be very common... keeping with the books, but also not much fun.

Yup, this was the next game I was looking to play before EQ actually heh, they were both coming out around the same time. The lead programmer from the game I was playing (The Realm) went to the game.

They think /anon is an "exciting" feature.

The way they describe it, you'd think they just cured cancer by coming up with this brilliant /anon idea.
