Was not sure which forum to post this in, but since Malik Sealy (Timberwolves) will always mean basketball to me, this seems appropriate.
Eight years ago Malik Sealy was driving home from a party that several Wolves had been having when he was hit head on by a drunk driver going the wrong way on the highway; Malik was killed.
The driver who had priors for his drinking served some time, and following his release he was again arrested for drunk driving. Now, they just announced on the news he was just arrested again for driving drunk.
Malik Sealy was a class act, and losing him to such an idiotic act still galls me.
If enough people were to write to their elected representatives, what do you think the chances are of getting repeat drunk drivers sentenced to having to drive in a demolition derby, with only one allowed to walk out. The winner would get to go to treatment free.
This could generate income for the states via betting on the races, to help cut the cost of the injuries and medical bills incurred by the drunk driver's
actions.
Just an idea for some new recreational sport/betting. And to get some folks permanently off the roads.
