I keep seeing reports of this happening all over the country. I figured this one was as good as any to post about:

“We don’t want anyone thinking that there’s an invasion happening or that we declared martial law or something like that,” Fletcher said.

What better way to practice for the war in Iraq than mock invade Indianapolis. The two are so similiar. Somethings not right about this.

Most of the troops will be deployed at the Indiana State Fairgrounds and the Raytheon facility on Holt Road,
Which happens to be in the perfect position to cut off all communications and main transportation arteries while blocking access to and from the airport.

Seriously, get a grip. Wish I could take part in this kind of training, MOUT sites are cool, but it would be so much better if you could do it in an honest to god real city.

Maybe (I hope) nothing ever comes of it, but I think it's all too clear who they're training to police:
The actors were told to demand to be let free and state that they had rights. They were also told to demand food and water. The troops in turn were taught to ignore them and to order them to behave in an orderly fashion.

I do have a grip, I guess we come from two differnt times in the military and that is apparently a huge difference in perceiving what is wrong and right in training. I'm with Sanchek on this one...this stinks plain and simple...not a good thing here.

I think the "victory punch" they serve at Ft. Jackson has become very potent in allowing for more effective brainwashing.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day. Pointing to conspiracy theorists to discredit things being talked about in mainstream news (http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2008/02/04/ED5OUPQJ7.DTL) does not compute.

If he pointed to a textbook claiming that 2 + 2 = 4, would that make it false?

2 + 2 is clearly equal to 5 according HR1955. Stop with your anti-American Al Gebra propaganda or we'll extraordinarily render you as a domestic terrorist.
