Getting...?

Seriously jedd, the same thing as what you saw on those videos goes on right here on this forum, with people treating those who disagree with them like enemies.

This has been blatantly ridiculous since 1992, and less obviously for even longer than that.

The problem is, I'm starting to feel the same way back...

I live amongst the ill informed...I had an Obama yard sign out and it was stolen Saturday night. Funny thing is after talking to someone going around handing leaflets out for a democrat state senator...about an hour later her organizer showed up and gave me a new one. It lasted through Sunday night...if it lasts the week I'll be surprised.

I also put out a sign of my own making:

"Trespassing and Stealing my sign
Won't Keep Obama Out"

And I taped two small American Flags to the sign.:)

Yea, I am starting to feel like we need to respond to them the same way they are to us... the problem with that is that it will just lead to conflict.

Could a civil war be a possibility ever again? I don't know!

Should McCain win (since the only way that would happen is through widespread voting fraud) or Obama be killed...lookout.

I will be there on the front line... Remember when people mocked my not fighting in the military and considered me Anti-American for it?

Well, I would fight to keep these psycho's from destroying America.

I don't see any realistic comparison, this board is basically an anom place with people familiar only to each others posts. To stand in line to vote and be harrassed by name calling, threatening gestures is simply unacceptable to me. When and by whom and to whom was this last done in our country?

This is a result of the fear mongering of the McCain Palin campaign, it's that simple.

While the first one would get a reaction, I doubt it would be a huge or lasting one. The second one though scares me.

A few things stood out from that video:

1) There was a perception that the polls had been opened as a direct affect of Obama being there for a rally, and that being a Sunday it was out of the ordinary and not right; and,

2) that those voting early were voting for Obama, which was a baseless assumption given that at least one of the protesters stated he has voted early himself and for McCain; and,

3) that there are people living in that area that make great testament to the value of a pro-choice country, such as the man holding his child trying to start a fight with the Obama supporter by saying all Obama supporters were liars (those are fighting words) or the girls trying to drown out the reporter with their "Sarah Palin" chanting (or more likely they hoped to get on camera).

Nationwide LA style riots wouldn't be unlikely, if it gets jacked through perceived fraud.

Malse

Nationwide maybe not but if individual districts KNOW they got jacked, I can certainly see rioting in places like Florida and poorer parts of the North East.

And seriously ... who the hell protests voting? Those people ought to be arrested.

I got spit on today in fucking Winter Haven, FL a small as town for voting early, even though i didnt have an indicator that i was voting for Obama.

Once i got spit on, i told the gentleman that he made it voting for Obama that much easier.

What's this voting early thing? I didn't know there was such a thing except absentee ballots.

But holy god if someone spit on me I'd go apeshit. That is beyond disgusting and I /cringe at the thought of disease (I'm weird like that).

That is considered assault, and with the saliva to provide DNA it would be a solid case.

Some of the folks I used to ride with would have done exactly that, had him arrested. They would then have had access to information about him to find him later, and have a heart to heart chat about his social ineptness.

No, I wasn't asking why you didn't do anything, you did more with your words to him than a fist would have, he just doesn't understand that...yet.

I was saying what I would do, that doesn't make me right, but then again at 6'2 235 and pretty well experienced in fighting I can tend to be a bit intimidating at times and that would be one of those times for me...other than that...you did the right thing.

Voted early today. I find it disgusting people being harassed at the voting booth. Vote for who you want in peace even if you are wrong..lol Here is the kicker libtards. Are you ready? Are you sitting down? I found 3 friends who were not really into politics. They were inclined to Obama because it's all they ever saw on the news. after some talking to them and "re-education" they all fell in line to McCain and we all went together to the polls today. Huzzah!

Why is everyone voting early, anyway? I never understood that.

Are the polling places very busy on election day in your area? I usually walk to mine, vote, and walk home in about 30 minutes.

Malse
10-20-2008, 08:25 PM
Some places you don't have polling sites in every convenient area for the one day and they'll set them up in advance in outlying areas to save people long trips to lines on election day.

In 2004 I had to wait about 45 minutes to vote. So god knows how long it'll be this year, I'll be voting early to avoid it.

I have taken the entire week off, and plan to be at the polling place when the doors open, so hopefully my wait won't be too bad. My place to vote is a Catholic school/church, so at least the language of those in line should be tolerable. :p

For me, I'm in Atlanta the first week of November, so it was either take 5 minutes at the County Clerk's office or go through a four step process to vote absentee. Not a tough choice.

Absentee ballot in the battleground state of Missouri!

Although it sucks because Missouri is one of the only states to require that you have your ballot notarized before you send it in. Booooo

I don't understand this either. No matter how close or separated the race is, I want my vote counted. The early votes and the absentee votes (at least where I am) aren't counted unless the election is close enough for those votes to matter.

To answer your question, Sanchek, on Election Day of 2000 I had to wait 3.5 hours to vote (in Athens, Ga btw :) ), and that was arriving at 2:30 in the afternoon - the line streched out and around the elementary school gymnasium where voting was being held. (They only had four of those old gigantic 'pull the handle' type voting machines at my precinct btw, and problems associated with inadequate voting facilities that year in 'certain' (read: minority-majority) districts was reported on the local news.

This year's election looks to blow turnouts for all presidential elections in recent memory out of the water - and frankly, I don't have a whole day to wait in line to vote (voting in my 2000 precinct was finally cutoff at 10:00 pm, a good faith attempt made to serve everyone who had been in line by 7), and yes, I'd like to make sure my vote is counted, even in Texas ;).

Given projected turnouts, especially in 'battleground' states, it makes sense to vote early, if you can - and to address Talaren's concern, at least in Texas, the early voting is counted *before* precinct totals for that day begin to come in so it's always exciting to see those initial results :).

Regards,
Nydia

You "believe" in Trickle Down Economics?

Well that's good, because it pretty much is a faith based initiative, isn't it?

Today, in the US, the top 1% wealthiest people have more wealth than the bottom 90%. So I can understand your faith, because anything else would require evidence.

I believe in the Trickle down, like I believe we are living in End Times!

Can I get an Amen!?

You know the original Trickle Down Economies? Yea.. they used to call it Feudalism.
