New McCain stump: 'We've got them just where we want them'

With Election Day just three weeks away, John McCain will unveil a new stump speech Monday that will signal his campaign's closing push. McCain's remarks will speak to the need for Americans to evaluate and consider the new direction this country must take, and which candidate has the proven record, experience and readiness to deliver against growing challenges.

An excerpt from his prepared remarks below:

"Let me give you the state of the race today. We have 22 days to go. We’re 6 points down. The national media has written us off. Senator Obama is measuring the drapes, and planning with Speaker Pelosi and Senator Reid to raise taxes, increase spending, take away your right to vote by secret ballot in labor elections, and concede defeat in Iraq. But they forgot to let you decide. My friends, we’ve got them just where we want them.

"What America needs in this hour is a fighter; someone who puts all his cards on the table and trusts the judgment of the American people. I come from a long line of McCains who believed that to love America is to fight for her. I have fought for you most of my life. There are other ways to love this country, but I’ve never been the kind to do it from the sidelines."

I wonder if he'll call Michelle Obama a trollop?

To be honest, McCain's biggest problem is probably that at all of his speaches and rallies people can't stop yelling "Kill the Muslim!" ... and he hasn't tried to stop them, it scares all the rational people away from his campaign. This speech will get lost with the rest of them in the cloud of hate.

I know this doesn't apply to all Republicans, but it seems like any more the GOP is all about hate and fear.

Well you can't exactly expect him to give up at this point.

As the above picture demonstrates, in American elections, anything can happen....

McCain's campaign manager said the same thing this morning on NPC - "We're right where we want to be." The interviewer asked him, "You want to be six points behind?" He mumble jumbled his way through with more stupid answers.

He also said that the McCain camp is at a disadvantage because they have an "R" next to their name. Can that be interpreted as him admitting that the Republican party is a corrupt mess?

What McCain is saying is a mutilation of what General Lewis B. "Chesty" Puller said as the CO of the First Marines as they found themselves surrounded at the Chosin Reservoir in North Korea in 1950:

"We’re surrounded. That simplifies our problem of getting to these people and killing them."

I am still waiting for someone to ask McCain on camera if his wife laid into him like she did Obama for voting against the defense budget bill.
