From the lets give credit where it is due dept.
Because of heavy involvement by the Bush Administration, including a personal phone call from the President to the leader of Sudan, and a heavy diplomatic push... it looks like the crisis in Darfur will be able to be resolved withour further bloodshed.
Kudos on the right thing... Its about damn time.

Was the effort made before or after George Clooney and his posse showed up at the White House lawn?

Still waiting to see how it sorts out, and I'd rather not think of the numbers of deaths, rapes, etc during the last few years of world inaction, but if it finally puts an end to the slaughter and displacement, I'll be much pleased.

It can't be good.
Bush did something right, er correct?
Perish the thought.
Wonder why the UN didn't stop it?
Oh, that's right, they don't do anything unless the U.S. gets involved, how silly of me....

I'm not holding my breath. Sudan has stated willingness to cooperate before, all the while continuing to support the militias.
If peace holds for a few months, then maybe this time it will be true.

Let's hope the Sudanese government follows through with this.
