This is what Halo and World of Warcraft will do to you (http://www.money.co.uk/article/1000390-13-year-old-steals-dads-credit-card-to-buy-hookers.htm)

I'm not sure which is my favorite quote:

Asked why he ordered two escorts, Ralph said he thought it was the thing to do when you win a "World of Warcraft" tournament.

They told the suspicious working girls they were people of restricted growth working with a traveling circus, and as State law does not allow those with disabilities to be discriminated against they had no right to refuse them.

and took his friends on a $30,000 spending spree, culminating in playing "Halo" on an Xbox with a couple of hookers in a Texas motel.

Ralph's ambition is to one day become a politician.

Had me almost falling out of my chair.

That one line made it look like something right out of the Onion. Any journalistic integrity (yes I vomited a bit as I typed that line) went right out the door with that one simple sentence.

And yes, I thought it was hilarious too. But the Onion is funny.

I almost posted the same story in Nuggets last week, but the source didn't look credible. My thinking had less to do with defending gaming, as much as disappointment in kids these days. Seriously - dad's credit card, a hooker, and all they could think to do was Halo?

And they say we don't need sex ed!

On the other hand, a semi-intelligent bit of research between games and violent behavior - http://www.reuters.com/article/technologyNews/idUSN0725760620080509

Eh, I wasn't really linking games to this kid's behavior, just seemed like a funny title and a tie in to this board. :)

Oh I wasn't saying that. I was just making a joke at Jack Thompson's expense. Maybe he will try to sue me for $5000 each time I mention his name.

Ralph had reportedly told police that his father wouldn't mind, as it was his birthday last week and he had forgot to get him a present.

There's evidence of the root of the problem right there. The man probably doesn't give his kid the time of day normally.

Wouldn't doubt that his parents are divorced as well.

Maybe they're pot smokers too?

Yeah, because all pot smokers neglect their children

(It's a joke, it's a joke! :D I just thought I'd combine what I was learning from every thread.)
