I've been playing EQ2 but my girlfriend isn't digging it as much as I am, so we're trying to entertain what else to play. EQ2 is good and very indepth but its not as polished as games like WoW in terms of the gameplay and graphics - and since she's not playing for an endgame looking for something a little easier.
Right now the only thing that comes to mind other than WoW which I've played to death is City of Heroes. Are there any other games out there you can suggest?

Oh god, if she dislikes EQ2 she'll hate Vanguard I'm sure ;-)

Patch 2.4 just came out in WoW. While its not world-changing (ala an expansion) it does add a pretty good amount.. including no longer requiring keys for Kara and some BT encounters.
They've also recently made lower level quests (1-60) give more exp... this makes 1 - 20 really fast. They also buffed up lower level dungeon loot, and lowered the difficulty, as well as increasing the exp for dungeon quests. Together with making quests give more exp, 20-60 is pretty quick now too. Then you're having fun in Outland. It probably wouldn't be too tedious for you to create a new char with her (try doing it on a new server you haven't played on.. makes things more challenging, and more fun due to the lack of twinking ; p) and playing up to 70. By the time you've got adequate loot, the expansion would be coming out...
I suppose it depends on how played out on WoW you are.

Maybe check out Frontlines: Fuel for War, created by my main man Semedi Zorin the Wanderer AND just came out a month ago. :D:D
(ps I don't think its an rpg though)

My son really liked Lord of the Rings Online, for a while.
Vanguard needs to have improved drastically for me to suggest that.
Is she looking for interaction with others, or just something different?
I would say the same as Akom, regarding WoW. I set up a second account, and play dual just to see what I can do, without grouping with anyone else.
That might be a challenge, start two new toons and see how far you can progress just as a team of two. You can still do some stuff with others, like instances and such, of course, but trying to stay a twosome as much as possible is a fun challenge, for a while. My Warlock and Priest are only level 26, but it is fun for me learning how to play those classes and seeing what I can do.
Sid Meier's Civilization IV is an option for getting away from RPG's.

It's kinda funny, me and my girlfriend are running into that same problem as you, Kelraz. I am enjoying all the two boxing I am doing on our accounts while she isn't as interested in EQ2 as I am. We are going to be trying some game trial offers to find a game that she will find enjoyable, mostly because I can enjoy about any game.
We are first going to try Pirates of the Burning Sea, then we'll probably try WOW (not a fan myself) then who knows after that. I've been getting fond memories of days gone past lately and I am excited about finding a game I can play long term again!

We bought City of Villians, so far so good. That has come a LONG way and the character creation ... well she's made a dozen characters today since she's enjoying that.

I was worried about playing City of Heroes considering Cryptek or whatever the company is called doesn't own it anymore and I hear that it still, lacks any kind of variety in content.

"Positron" and the rest of the devs still run the show, its just owned by NCSoft now (their publisher).
I can't speak into the content much since I'm fairly low level, but so far I've encountered a dozen different types of missions I didn't remember as a beta tester ages back. Like I beat 4 missions and got called on a timed mission to stop a bank robbery and a npc villian and a bunch of thugs broke into a bank. My girlfriend I managed to catch them on their way out and had to take em all out, including the lookouts and the getaway driver, before they got outside of the city limits. It was pretty intense and a lot of fun. If nothing else, its killed a good 6 hours of time so far with the promise of a lot more:)
Leveling is a LOT faster than originally too, my max character from a long time ago was 30 after playing for a month, my current character just hit 14 and can fly now :)

Yeah, I'll only play that when Martha is around. EQ2 is still funnerist.

Heh, I play Civ4 just about every night during lulls in my EQ raids, such as when people are buffing or we wipe.
Who would have thought when we started EQ that I'd be nearing 25,000 unbuffed hp, and I'm well over 30k raid buffed now.

Tale, at the end of Beta they gave us endgame level SoF gear.
Think I was hitting, as a ranger, 34kish hp with over 4k ac raid buffed.

Got my first piece of Crystallos gear last night (range slot). I have an item to make a crystallos bracer too, but I need to raise my faction from there before I can do the hand in. I'm between 31 and 32k Raid buffed depending on which power supply I use, rk3 buffs, and banner. With Elemental power source, I'm right around 4100 raid buffed AC.
Wish I had more time outside of raids to play, so I could replace a couple of my augments.

Very nice indeed!
With all the gear we're picking up in fabled it's merely a matter of a few more boss mobs and we'll be hitting MMM raids. /twitch

Isn't it sad that there's enough time to play a game like Civ while you're playing another? I used to do the same thing with GalCiv though, but it's just silly that there is that much dead time.

Well I'm a bard. I don't buff, I don't rez, so there's some downtime when we are doing those things heh.

You can buy City of Heroes Good and Evil edition which gives you both City of Heroes and City of Villians for twenty bucks at Gamestop, I am going to pick it up for me and my girlfriend and let her spend months just accessorizing her superwomen.

That is a good Idea to get back into... Is there any depth in CoV/CoH anymore then there was when it first came out?
Was a great game to play with a bunch of friends but very boring alone. If it is any different, might be worth another shot.

I rolled on Pinnacle where my old char was, which I am starting to think is a mistake. Villian side its just very ghost townish. There's one server (Freedom I think) that is packed with people though and the best choice, we're gonna reroll there tonight. We've done tons of taskforces and missions and fun stuff, its actually come a long way from its beginning with a new *free* content patch that just came out a few days ago I think.
Everquest 2 has it beat when it comes to content by far (raiding wise I've still haven't seen Veeshan's Peak and there's the new Plane of Hate coming out of course ...) but its a LOT of fun and the lowest learning curve for a game I've ever seen.

Does the EQ2 VP have a nerve wracking quest for the key that will take you months to complete?
I'll never forget all the hours I had to that stupid Pained(in the ass)Soul.

Heh, I used to camp Pained Soul, the Goblin in the waters of LoIO, and the Skellie in Dreadlands to MQ with guildies. Usually had pretty good luck on spawns.
Still have an medallion from the Goblin in bank.
That damned dragon you need to kill for the "new" VP key quest is one pain in the ass, tho'.
Never gave much thought to EQ2 having similar stuff, as I could not stick with the game past level 10, with either Freeport or Qeynos character. It might have been interesting, after level 25-30.

The great thing about EQ2 now is that you're not limited to Qeynos or Freeport for starting zones :) You can start in Neriak, Timmy Deep, or Kelethin now.
1 to 20 in EQ2 is such a joke now they should just let you start at level 20 but that's just my opinion.
I'm not sure about the requirements to get into VP, my guild isn't even close to such aspirations at this moment so it's of no concern for me.

Had a cat ranger up to level 50 when Eq2 first came out. Was fun till the guild faded ;(

To get into VP you need to do the Fate of Norrath quest, basically kill all of the raid shit before it. All of tier1, one of the 2 tier2 bosses, etc.
