BRUSSELS, Belgium (AP) — The European Union decided Monday to remove an Iranian opposition group from the EU's terror list and lift the restrictions on its funds. Iran condemned the decision as a promotion of terrorism, and France appealed it.

Iran's Foreign Ministry said the group's hands "are stained with the blood of thousands of Iranian and non-Iranian people," and that the EU decision demonstrated what it called the bloc's "double standards" in dealing with terrorism.

Maybe in a few years Al queda can be taken off the terror list as well...

Release the millions worth of funds they have so they can rearm and attack innocent people again... The west is once again proving it has no right to demand anything of anyone.

Fucking pathetic

Nice knowing you consider following the rule of law and court decisions as fucking pathetic. Did you read the link you provided? If they come up with evidence with which to justify listing the group and freezing funds, they can reverse their decision; but, because they had no evidence supporting their original inclusion on the terror list, they had no choice but to abide by court decisions.

But I am sure you can come up with all sorts of documentation and such in support of Iran's indignation, so maybe you can forward that to the EU folks so they can amend their decision right away.

Just because their fighting the Iranian government doesn't make them terrorists especially since it's such a great regime there in Iran:

It's really hard to fathom why there would be any groups opposing this enlightened government.....not that this group's philosophy seems that much more enlightened.

Jedd, have any links to prove this organization targets innocents?

You guys are once again keeping your heads in the sand. I posted tons of links a year ago when we discussed the mek, and even the USA has them on the terror watchlist, yet the burden of proof is once again on me?

Well, U.S. Intelligence wasn't on the up and up about 9/11 either. This group disarmed themselves, and appears to have stopped the violence in favor of using political pressure.

OMG, teh horror!!!1!

If I kill you and the tell everyone I threw away my gun would your family consider me anything other then a murderer?

Would you support the same if AQ tells us they have renounced violence?

Answer is a big fat no

Yes, by reading your link and understanding what was being said, obviously I have my head in the sand. Since the EU did not have, or present, any satisfactory evidence justifying their inclusion on the terror list, the court said they were in the wrong. Keep in mind France is appealing this.

Now, rather than reverting to your usual insults of those not complying with your view of the world, why not forward your "tons of links" to the EU folks to use, so that this injustice and affront to Iran may be corrected.

How many people now in this organization were around when they did all of the violence back in the 80s?

While you would still be considered a murderer, if the organization you were a part of denounced you and your methods, then they wouldn't be associated with your actions.

If AQ renounced violence, and gave up OBL, then what reason would there be to not trust them?

So is that a 'no', jedd, 'you can't provide any links with evidence'?

OK thanks, that's all we asked.

Jedd, do you have links that show they've committed terrorist acts since 2001:

"The group said, however, that it has renounced violence in 2001 and has not kept arms since 2003."

I have hard time believing it to, but again, if their opposing the current Iranian regime, they can't be all bad.

Release the millions worth of funds they have so they can rearm and attack innocent people again.

Isn't that exactly what you want for Hamas?

That being said, I tend to agree that taking these people off the terrorism list is a big step backward. It is a lame tit-for-tat for Iran's support of Hizbollah in Lebanon, Hamas in Gaza and Shiite militants in Iraq and could potentially put the west in the same league as Iran as far as supplying and supporting thugs.
