Even as a God fearing man myself, I have to wonder why anyone gives this fool press or credence...

haha well seeing as how Dover is in my backyard this is all over the airwaves. Personally I think Pat and that crazy lady from Trading Spouses should hook up. They'd make an excellent match.

He's a great..great example of what is bad in the christian religion today.....thank the lord, there's a lot of good as well to counteract this quack.

"I'd like to say to the good citizens of Dover: If there is a disaster in your area, don't turn to God. You just rejected him from your city..."
"God is tolerant and loving, but we can't keep sticking our finger in his eye forever," Robertson said. "If they have future problems in Dover, I recommend they call on Charles Darwin. Maybe he can help them."
Show me where he says God is going to smite Dover. He didn't say that.

No one has any right to push their pale religious beliefs on others. Be it a reporter, a judge or the president. Intelligent Design was a lousy attempt to worm religion into science class.

"If you get smited, Remember... God doesnt love you anymore."
So if a tornado hits Dover, in Pat Robertsons world, God is sitting in heaven with his fingers in his ears, saying "nanananananana", so he cant hear the prayers of the people who rejected one of the most asinine concepts ever to orginate in Alabama, and THAT is saying something.

I'm just curious, doesn't the Bible say that as the end draws near there will be people that pass themselves off as "men of God" and that they will actually be with Satan?

Yes, though that sort of thing was common at the very time the books of the NT were being penned. Caused quite a bit of division within the early Christian communities. Robertson is a nutter alright, with O'Reilly (http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2005/11/12/COIT.TMP) not far behind.

And here I always thought the past tense of smite was smote.

Yes. False Prophets are scatterred all throughout the airwaves,..er, uh...Bible. Aesop's fables (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aesop%27s_Fables) first give us the "wolf in sheep's clothing" (http://www.bartleby.com/17/1/39.html) reference we have today, but it is also mentioned in the Gospels (http://www.gnpcb.org/esv/search/?q=Matt.+7%3A15). The Apostle Paul had false prophets (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?book_id=54&chapter=11&version=9) challenging his upstanding ministry that put him in direct competition for air time in his day. False prophets are identified as being able to fool a lot of people (http://bible.gospelcom.net/passage/?search=mark+13:22). Pat Robertson said a lot of things that contradict scripture, and that should make anyone conclude that he was speaking for himself, as a man- and not a man of God. I am not calling him a false prophet (http://www.devonchurch.org/sermons/textromans/pages/20020721.html).

He's about as nutty as Jack Thompson is. Everytime something goes against what he believes is the 'standard' of Christianity, he goes berserk. Thompson's the same way, everytime there's even a hint of violence in a video game, he goes berserk. Maybe they should get together sometime, and let them sit there arguing about who's more insane.

I'm pretty sure Pat Robertson read the Cliff's Notes version of the Bible.

God misfired and hit them instead of Dover PA.

That serves Him right for buying the cheap knock-off thunder bolts from Wal-mart.

Dude.. it was all I could afford. If they would have shared more of the money gathered in my name, I'd have gotten the "Accubolt 3000" instead of those ones in the $1.00 bin.

Maybe he relied on faulty intelligence that TX. and OK. where building WMB's (weapons of massive brainpower) that they planned on using against such sacred places as DC. and Topeka
