View Full Version : Most anticipated sequal?

Let's speculate.

Of all those old late 70s, 80s and early 90s movies that we all love, what one in particular would you love to see a new sequal for?

I ask because it doesn't seem to be beyond the realms of possibilities. Many older movies have been added to in the 00's, ie Star Wars, Indie, and now there's even talk of a Ghostbusters 3.

So, what would it be for you?

I'm gonna have to go for Ghostbusters 3. An Ackroyd/Murray reunion would be top stuff, it's an easily adaptable movie to update and create a fresh storyline, and it has an all-audience appeal (aka Indiana Jones 4).

Road Warrior comes to mind. I rather liked "Beyond Thunderdome" I think Gibson could still pull it off.

Blade Runner II? Harrison Ford is getting a bit long in the tooth, though

A shot at unfucking The Godfather III might be interesting, now that Pacino is getting older. I'm sure him not being dead could be explained somehow.

I'm worried about TR2N, even with Pixar's involvement. :P

Ghost Busters 3 is going to be CGI from my understanding. And all 4 of them are signed on, according to imdb

More Conan! using the Rock instead of Arnie.

With Cyndi Lauper back in the music business, I for some odd reason am reminded of "The Goonies"! The baddies should be eligible for parole by now, and it would be interesting to see what new mystery could draw that gang back together (kids in tow most likely).

I wrote the above in jest, but the more I think about it the more it seems as plausible as any other sequel. A shame there is so little original movie magic being done. BTW, "Lost Boys: The Tribe" was the worst tripe I have subjected myself to in a long time. If anyone has seen "Hangmen", the movie with the Sandra Bullock debut, the 'Lost Boys' sequel is just barely above that.

I await "The Hobbit", and the remaining 'Potter' movies.

That's an all time classic! I still have that one on VHS although i have'nt had a VHS machine for about 3 years. just can't bring myself to toss it.

Would only work if you could get Kurt to reprise the role, anything else would be severly lacking.

There is "talk", or I should say "a whimper" of a Goonies 3 going abroad. Most of the original cast have mentioned they are trying to talk to a producer about joining up again, except this time with their own kids, as well (not sure how bad of an idea that is?).

An all cgi ghostbuster's 3 would be a serious let down. That's a shame.

Big Trouble in Little China 2 = roxx0r (and I don't use that word oftenx0r).

Road Warrior could use another sequel. The only problem with Beyond Thunderdome was that it was too short.

Well, I am going to have to drag out the old original now and watch, to remind myself of what they looked like back then, heh.

The Hobbit is one I'm eagerly awaiting. I just hope the guy Jackson picks, uses the same actors for Elrond, Gandalf, Gollum, and Bilbo.

That and I can't wait to see Smaug flying over Rivertown, destroying it!

These are all definitely movies I'd pay to see :)
Big Trouble in Little China is one of my favorites!

ET could be interesting with a sequel.

I am not sure that the same actor would be able to do the movie, as far as Bilbo Baggins is concerned. It would be nice to keep Gandalf tho'.

Ian Holm could do it, if the stunts were done by someone else.

As I recall, there weren't that many "stunts" that Bilbo actually performed. Being a Rogue (burglar), you don't actually have to be all that physical...

He's too old :p

Ian Holmes said he didn't *want* to do it, as playing Bilbo in LotR was one of the most painful things he's done. He had to wear a head piece that pulled his face skin to make him look younger.

And..

Ian Mackellen has said he will be reprising his role, definately.

So yay =)
