I've been frequenting this particular forum where posters have been creating fake RPG motivational posters.
http://forum.rpg.net/showthread.php?t=264472&page=1
There are quite a few funny ones, but someone created 1 that kinda hit home for me.

And for the record, I saw the 1 about Libertarians....:D

Pretty laughable, since it's the neocons and their abettors who consistently refer to those who disagree with them or their policies as traitors, terrorist lovers, and so on.

Yes...I often see liberals calling for intolerance and military invasions....good poster Sixee, another fine example of deep thought from you.

I gave Sixee neg rep for this. I wish we could hack off the polar ends of our political spectrum so maybe something worth while could be discussed.
Libs and Conservatives alike do this shit. To sit here and point fingers is retarded. It's not worth defending, and when you say crap like:
Yes...I often see liberals calling for intolerance and military invasions
You are just encouraging it. Both sides have people who say stupid shit. If you want to dredge up every little tidbit of idiocy you can find on the internets then I would propose we create a new forum section for that so real discussion can take place, not empty and aimless attacks.
They really need to increase the amount of poli sci that is required in the gen ed program. :(

Neg Rep for posting a motivitonal poster I found funny?
Wow, so much for freedom of speech....
LOL...

I think you just proved Sixee's point for him.

Because giving you negative rep is restricting your freedom.
Totally.

LOL, Yeah, and I shouldn't have to pay the price for opening my mouth and spouting my opinion....I mean, isn't that the state of society?
Where's the Tolerance? Where's the Open-Mindedness?

The next step is getting that to apply to Faux News!

No one is oppressing your freedom of speech...
You post what you think is a "funny" picture. Cool.
Realize that funny is completely subjective. Also realize that you're attacking someone's political ideology - something that can be quite sensitive and is also the only thing you're really known for on these boards.
As for proving Sixee's point? I'm not sure if that was in reference to me or not. Either way, it's pretty ridiculous to expect anything less than what Thor/Rover posted in regard to a blatant attack on their beliefs, although I think that defending against this type of shit is rather pointless.
These stupid stereotypes that pundits continually put forth are for idiots. Debate the facts or get the fuck out.

This is funny:
A guy's walking along the beach when he trips over a bottle, picks it up, and a genie comes out.
The genie says, "Thank you. I've been stuck in that bottle for centuries. I'll tell you what...I'll give you one wish. Anything you want."
The guy pulls out a map of the Middle East, and he says, "Could you bring peace to this part of the world?"
The genie says, "Gee, I don't know. They were fighting there for centuries and centuries, long before I was even trapped in the bottle. Have you got another wish?"
The guy says, "Well...could you make it so once a month my wife voluntarily wakes me up with a blow job?"
The genie says, "Let me see that map again."

So you're saying that you don't approve of people using their freedom of speech to comment on your freedom of speech?

Well, that's how society seems to be set up now days.
If you profess an opinion that is considered not Politically Correct, you get shouted down.
But if you profess an opinion that passes all the PC tests, it's held to be a fact, and no dissention is allowed.

Sort of like if I would walk into a mall in the US and shout "down with the US" or "You deserved 9/11"?
It's pretty simple. Everyone wants their opinion to be reigning . When people have majority behind them it becomes quite simple to squelch dissidents. Happens everywhere. Politics, workplaces, bars, families...
That's what Freedom of Speech is supposed to counter. However, it comes with the drawback of debate. If you dont like people disagreeing with you, just hold your peace.

Freedom of speach does not mean that you will not suffer some kind of consequences from stating your opinion. Remember, "Rep" are your reputation points. If you say something that people don't agree with, your reputation goes down. Cause and effect.
If you were to walk into a bar, find a guy thats twice your size and started exercising your freedom of speach on him, throwing out all sorts of names and expletives, what's going to happen? Yeah, he'll probably react to your exercise of "freedom" by punching you in the face.
Freedom of Speach is a law that the authorities are under and that protects us from them should they decide they don't like what we say. Thus, you could not be arrested for posting something that you thought was funny... but you could be rediculed / humiliated / hated.

I think you just proved Sixee's point for him.
Yes, because Hitler started with Neg Rep hits on Poland and Czechoslovakia....
Im kinda doubting he even knows what Fascism is. Let me help.
See, waaaaayyyy back when, when the Roman Republic was in its heyday, they had Super Cops called Lictors, kinda like Judge Dreads I suppose. Well, they would roam the streets of Rome with a bundle of sticks to be able to break one out and beat someone who wasnt behaving right, additionally they had an axe attached, so they could kill if need be in their deliverance of insta karma.
This bundle was known as a fasces.
Now when Mussollini comes to power, he wants to piggyback on the glory of Rome, and show strength and the ability to bring order... so he names his political movement... FASCISM.
Fascism is ultra Nationalism combined with extreme authoritarianism, melded with Corporatism and anti Liberalism.
So besides showing a complete ignorance of history, how is this poster humorous?

It's interesting how many commonly used "power" words boil down to just a bundle of sticks.

Yes, because Hitler started with Neg Rep hits on Poland and Czechoslovakia....My comment had absolutely nothing to do with the rep hits.
So besides showing a complete ignorance of history, how is this poster humorous?
About as humorous as

Yea, basically. As ignorant as well.

Those are both mildly funny if unoriginal. The Fascism one is much funnier without the ignorant and lame motivational poster wrapping since it addresses a more fundamental conceit of human nature.

That picture is indeed pretty funny considering the path our goverment has been on towards facism for a while now. Funny in the "point and laugh at the person that made it" way.

Seems to me if you wanted someone to join in your laughter of the poster perhaps nuggets would have beeen a better place rather than RL issues.
