'It's all what you make of it. Vapid people will be vapid regardless of medium. If they weren't blogging about their cats or twittering about their breakfast, they'd be yapping someone's ear off about the same lame topics.'
- Yeah, and it's nothing but positive that vapidness is spreading like a cancerous gall bladder, I'm sure.

What would you say the difference is between your non-sequitur 104 character message here and the same message on Twitter?
Haloface

'"Pruned the trees in my back yard. I think I cut down an entire tree's worth..."'
- The above is your last post on twitter.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but is your new book about tree pruning?
Sanchek

How are those things related at all, or related to what I asked you?
Haloface
05-11-2009, 11:10 AM
Oh, nothing, I'm quite sure.
Anyway, you were saying, about vapid people...?

Something you were proving his point on.
What some people use any tool for is not the sum total of the tool's worth. We don't judge The Motion of Planets Around the Sun as a lesser work because Danielle Steele also uses printed paper.

I'm still curious how your < 140 character posts in this thread are fundamentally different than Twitter messages because of which website they reside on. Seems arbitrary at best.
Haloface
05-11-2009, 11:21 AM
And I'm still wondering if your book is about botany, or...?
Don't be hurt, I'm just curious. Really.

Are you using this thread to practice for Twitter?
Can we have a thread you don't do this to?
Feel free to split this, Malse. Halo clearly just wants to shit all over the thread with off-topic bickering.

I'm thinking nerve-strike.
Besides, I'm shocked you would accuse me of such behaviour. Sad Euro face ((((
Haloface

Ok, I am definately thinking nerve-strike now. Come on, is it necessary to move the thread just because Sanchek's crying?
Anyway, I think he'd make a great botanist. Nothing to be ashamed of, really.

Rover761 (Rover761) is now following your updates on Twitter.
I get it now. Chenoa fed you my last Twitter message, and you're so in-heat for me that you posted without doing your own background first.
You're going to feel silly if you go and actually do some research for yourself. Especially since you're (as usual) arguing a made up point:
I got my first book deal as a direct result of my blog.
Haloface

Come on, just tell us, are you a botanist or not!?!
Sanchek

If you find a botany post on my blog, I will happily become a botanist.

I guess sending Halo your last post on Twitter about cutting down branches when you clearly state that posts similar to that are only post by vapid people makes it ironic. So you had a post split because of the irony of your post and you were called out on it...I guess that is par for the course for you.
Clearly I did not have to follow you on twitter to get your last post.
You really are a weird guy Sanchek...very odd
I got a free ride to a conference in Vegas through Twitter. Once there, I randomly sat beside a publisher that ended up offering to publish my second book if I want.
It's all what you make of it. Vapid people will be vapid regardless of medium. If they weren't blogging about their cats or twittering about their breakfast, they'd be yapping someone's ear off about the same lame topics.
Can we have our ears back?
Sanchek

Huh?
Do you think I sat beside the publisher and then proceeded to show him a Twitter post from the future? You're as desperate as Halo with this hardon you have for me.
At this point, I wouldn't be surprised to find one (or both) of you outside in my bushes, hoping to find some new thing to snip at my heels about here. Is this the best contribution to the board that you can muster?
Rover

No...I can contribute much more...but you keep moving it.
Sanchek

If what gets moved is all you've got, you'd be happier here: http://www.4chan.org/ (NSFW, for the love of god)

'Do you think I sat beside the publisher and then proceeded to show him a Twitter post from the future? '
- Well, yes. Probably with a balaclava on.

WTF is going on in this thread?

Sanchek got a publishing deal on twitter about botany.

WTF is going on in this thread?
Sanchek wrote a book on some type of programming language, about 1500 copies were sold and then he got another book deal on tree pruning from his twitter post.

I am going to put a sign on San's neighbors lawn... "My neighbor writes books about pruning tree's" Maybe they will pick his house over the Obama supporters :)
