- With the Opposition claiming victory, Zimbabwe stands on a precipice. This could go three ways: Opposition assume Government; Civil War; Mugabe proclaims a dictatorship.
I'm thinking the latter.

I'm not sure he would set up a dictatorship. Well, let me rephrase that. I suspect he would like to set up shop but given the fact that he is 84 and seems to have lost a lot of political capital with this election, I am not convinced that his military (or thugs, whichever) would actually back him.

Another option (fitting with Halo's first) is that Mugabe embezzles every penny he can and finds a cozy vacation spot outside the country.

If he hasn't already, a quick google of the recent news posts show that he hasn't been seen for several months.
He's likely on a tropical island somewhere sucking down fruity, alcoholic beverages. With umbrellas in them.

If he is allowed to stay in power, it is South Africa's fault. And I am all for President Mbeki's current backlash for his so called "quiet diplomacy" - ie do nothing.
Mugabe must not be allowed to continue in power. I hope certain elements in his party will see it's time to get rid of the old fucker.
Akipt: I think if Britain was as big as the US with so many states and such an odd mixture of crime, ie aligators eating babies, men sleeping with lions, etc, we wouldn't have as much time to report on everyone else :P
