As many of you have seen you can now leave reputation points based on post. Now at first it sounded like a cool idea, people can leave you comments and feedback on how they feel about your post. The only problem now is so many people leaving feedback with no name or even comment. Why bother? I really think it is retarded that people leave comments and do not leave their name. That is such a punk move. Grow balls please? Even people who leave good feedback/comments should put their name so you know who at least likes what you post. Sorry if it sounds stupid, just hate having like -20 rep points with stupid little comments (AND SOME GOOD ONES!!!) and not knowing who said what (or for those who did not comment, what they had to say).

I'd like to force a comment to submit them, when I get around to doing it. That might help some.

Speaking as someone who can see the names of everyone that leaves me rep, let me tell you that it still doesn't help much. You're right, it really is annoying to have a red dot in the list and no reason at all why.

Not just a comment, but it show their username too. I always thought mods did not like anonymous trolls, but this supports the use of being an anon baby.

I'll be working on the hack. We will have it return an error message if you leave nothing in the comments field. In addition, if you feel that a reputation point given to you is unfair, you may file an appeal to one of our administrators, who will check the database to find out more about it.

That's got nothing to do with anonymous trolls. Maybe they just don't feel comfortable putting their name on their opinions. Just like some people prefer to lurk, rather than post a lot.

I ran through the database and glanced at the reps overall. I don't see any real pattern of abuse. There's positive and negative ones. Ones with comments and not.

As far as appeals... For the love of god, send those to Ryb. No way I'm getting in the middle of that stuff. :p

I'd say that's as good a reason as any not to make it visible. That's not the point of the system. Use PMs for that.

Reputation comments are now officially required. The Ayonae Ro Server Comunity Board Trustees ("Tyrants") have passed the motion making comments required. Now that the path is cleared, please enter a comment for each reputation point you give, otherwise your request will be denied.

Please do not abuse the system. If you are going to give a reputation, state a reason, otherwise we may need to turn off the system. There is only so many times we can give you another chance. Please don't ruin this for others who use the system legitimately.

If you have a problem with your reputation, the person to contact is me. I will evaluate your reputation, and if need be, I will adjust it if there is a reason to. I checked your records, Buyza, and I deleted the one reputation where you had "!" as your comment since the system was in place. I have also notified the party responsible for the short comment. If you feel you have a problem with your reputation send me a PM promptly, and I will examine your reputation record.

My reputation rating is worse than Buyza54 I think hehe. I keep waiting for it to affect my posting abilities or take away my sig or something relevant.

We can set up negative side-effects of low reputations, but I'm more interested in rewards for high reps instead. I doubt we'll do anything as a result of someone getting a low rep. The board really wouldn't be as much fun without the people who we love to hate.

I think the only "punishment" metric you'll see us use are the warnings in the automatic warn/ban system we've got installed.

I got another bad reputation point for this thread, all it says is "FUCK". Anon systems are great. lol I got a good one that says "You cant be as bad as Buyza".

The best part is now that Im ONE point below ground lvl Im excluded from this game completely, I cant leave reputation either positive or negative. So ONE anon flamer can destroy this system completely.

One person can't repeatedly neg you. They can only give so many per day and they have to give several to other users before hitting the same user again.

It's an interesting system honestly, and I would imagine that there would be less feedback if it weren't an anon system. I like it the way it is.

We'll probably make some higher user groups for high post counts with no warnings. Possible features of those include being able to see who left your reps on the list.

Being able to see who left reps is good addition, but might work counter-productive because ppl will get into reputation wars which just involve someone giving you bad rep and you giving it back just because they gave it to you. Comment requirement is pointless, I can imagine most people leaving pointless bullshit like "!" or "idiot" just to meet the requirement, however there are ppl that leave good critism.

To get back on the subject of rep points, how do we know if we got an "up" or a "down"? The green square in the left in our "lastest reputation received" screen?

I got 2 entries there, one I'm almost sure it was a plus ;) , the other... The comment being a "!", I can't say. And both has this green square.

If it's green, it's up. If it's red, it's down. If it's gray, the person that left the rep has <20 posts or <1 reputation and their hit didn't count either way.

All the admin and mods have 50 plus rep points. Do you all give each other pats on the back daily to boost the counts?

The only rep hit I've taken from a mod was when we tested the system out and Rybit hit me up with some positive love.

The rest has been from everyday users.

Yeah, me too. My last ten are from random people.

If we wanted to cheat, it only takes about 15 seconds to log into the admin panel, look up a username, and manually adjust its reputation. As far as conspiracy theories go, that was a pretty crappy one. :p

About the member rewards: Is the warning you mention something like, "Don't do that again or you'll be banned!" kind of thing or a "Please, don't do this again (like anon bad rep)" thing? :)
